ssa ji,

I don't know much about visa's and working permits, etc. But regarding your wish for a career in IT field within UK and earning potential. You could earn anything from £8,000 - 50,000+ depending on your qualifications and experience.

But there is alot of competition not only from British graduates but also from foreigners like yourself with silimar qualifications.

Check this website to see what kinda jobs are available and their requirements.

The working holidaymaker scheme has restrictions on the type and time you can spend doing work. I suggest you search on google to find out what these are. The work you do in the UK is meant to be coincidental work, like cleaning etc and not a proper profession.

Web developers are two a penny these days in the UK. Go for some hardcore specialist skills so if you do not get a suitable job in the UK then at least on your return to India you can get a job for one of the info companies out there. You can do some of those CISCO qualifications in a week and they do not cost too much to do in India. Might be worth doing one of them. I am sure there are a few IT experts on these forums so perhaps they know what IT skills are in demand in the UK.

You may want to look at the following site if your sole intention is working in the UK :

www.workingintheuk.gov.uk

The only way to switch your visa is if the work you do is what is termed a shortage occupation. You may also want to look at the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (but this is usually for Doctors, Engineers etc).
