amritdhari or gursikh means pure. u shud be pure at heart. first n foremost thin is tat u shud keep hair and read gurbaani.

sikh is a person who believes in one god 10 gurus, teachings of sri guru granth sahib ji maharaj and amrit of khanda and baata and nobody else.

sikh is one who is always ready to fight for a right cause. sikh will always stand against injustice. sikh will never part with his hair. npobody can make him to do so, even death can also not detter a gursikh from his paath.

the only guru of sikh is sri guru granth sahib ji maharaj n nobody else. sikh don't bow before anybody except sri guru granth sahib ji maharaj and is always ready to give his life on his guru's hukum.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh.

A Sikh can be anyone who wishes to be associated religion or adopt the Sikh way of life. :)

According to the Sikh Rehat Maryada (Sikh code of conduct), a Sikh is:

Section 1, Chapter 1

The Definition of Sikh :

  Article I

Any human being who faithfully believes in

i. One Immortal Being,

ii. Ten Gurus, from Guru Nanak Sahib to Guru Gobind Singh Sahib,

iii. The Guru Granth Sahib,

iv. The utterances and teachings of the ten Gurus and

v. the baptism bequeathed by the tenth Guru, and who does not owe allegiance to any other religion, is a Sikh
