Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I am curious to find out why there are double occurances of some bani. Some by the same Guru Ji and some by one Guru Ji and then further in the chain.

1. Sohila - Guru Nanak Dev Ji on page 12.

and then Sohila on page 157 under Raag Gauree.

2. Shabad - pavan guroo paanee pithaa maathaa dhharath mehath

Ist occurance on page 8 by Guru Nanak Dev Ji

IInd Occurance on page 146 by Guru Angand Dev Ji

There is a small difference on page 146.

Just curious to find out, why the bani is represented in this way. Is there a particular significance in this.

Thanks

VAHGURU JI KA KHALSA VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH !!

Maybe Guru Ji is demonstrating to us the fact that bani is to be recited/repeated ?

Also the contexts these banis are repeated in may well have great bearing on the meaning of the whole shabad, those small differences you refer to in your post have great influences on the meaning of the whole shabad.

Just a point about this comment........The Guru's were one Joht in 11 different forms...whether it be the human form or another as demonstrated by the form of Guru Granth Sahib Jee. This leads me to the reason we do not refer to Guru Jee's ANGS (Meaning Limbs) as Pages as Guru Jee is a living Guru, it is direspectful to refer to Guru Jee as a book whether directly or indirectly.

hope that helps

I was used to ask the same question many times to katha vachaksa and all the times answer was same that....

No shabad is repeated in guru granth sahib ji...i used to start arguing with baba ji but then they told the whole shbad may be same but there is difference in "matrava" including sihari, bihari you can only notice the diference reading carefully. but they also told me thst some time there is a mistake in printing made by printer and the printer guy leaves bihari as bihari and forgets to change to sihari. but this mistake is on old guru granth sahib prints but new ones there is no mistake.

FOR EXAMPLE:-
