One way you can do something is that whenever someone in your family, be it your mother or your father or your brother or sister or uncle or aunt or ANYONE makes a statement about how boys are preferable to girls you stand up and in their face tell them that their attitude is contributing to the destruction of the Sikh race and the most OBSCENE and DISGUSTING practice known to man.

If there are newspapers or doctors who are offering this service in the UK and you know of them, organise a campaign to grass them up to the police and tell the newspaper that it is not acceptable for them to advertise and if neccessary you will organise peaceful pickets to shame them until they refuse to do something.

When Guru Gobind Singh said that we must defend the weak, can you explain to me what can be more weak than an unborn baby girl who is going to be MURDERED and SHREDDED in the womb just because it is a girl?

So what are YOU going to do about it? Are we BRAVE or are we COWARDS?

In the face of our families and the ignorance of our people, are we going to stand up for the weak unborn?

Change starts with YOU

A Call to All Concerned Sikh Youth

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS, LISTSERVES, PUT UP ON YOUR FRIENDSTER, MYSPACE, and FACEBOOK!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

The problems we face in our community are many. However, there are times when one is forced to TAKE A STAND.

Two weeks ago, we sent out a challenge for the Sikh community in the Bay Area to TAKE A STAND against abuses against our women -- especially against Sex Selective Abortions.

We sent out copies of the ads that are being featured in Panjabi newspapers and all too often end up in our Gurdwaras and our homes.

Many have taken up the call and responded. We are now especially calling Sikh Youth (High Schoolers, College Students, Grad Students, Young Professionals, Health Professionals, and anyone that wants to make a difference) to TAKE A STAND and say 'enough is enough.' It is time for a mass movement and Saturday will be that beginning.

WHO: All Concerned Sikh Youth (This is not a women's issue, this is 'our' issue!) We seek women and men's help!

WHAT: To become involved in an effort to stop the publication/distribution of this information and begin educating our community -- ATTEND PRIMARY MEETING

WHEN: March 25th at 11:30am -- THIS SATURDAY

WHERE: San Jose State University - Pacifica Room in the Student Union (3rd Floor)

WHY: Because WE are the next generation of Sikhs and it is our duty to TAKE A STAND

For more information please visit www.jakara.org and click the 'take a stand' icon. If you cannot attend the meeting, please still do get involved by sending an email to jakaramovement@gmail.com

PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY

Gur Fateh,
