Kaur Kiran, Ranz Killa...

That last Sikhi weekend was SO inspirational. It was unbelievable. We asked the younger group - under 10s to recite the first five paureea of Japjee Saahib.. and wow, Guru Jee's kirpa, these little angels taught us not to stop reciting the Name of the Lord, by proceeding to recite SEVEN paureea!

There was such a buzz from the weekend, and those little children reminded us of how much love Sikhi has to offer.

Look forward to being there again, the the lotus charan of Dhan Guru Granth Saahib Jee Maharaaj.

CANNOT WAIT!

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

Waheguru Je Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Je Ke Fateh

First of all, we, your sevadars, would like to thank you for your support with Sikhi Weekend, which took place on the weekend of 19th November 2005. We thoroughly enjoyed the one-day camp and we learnt a lot from the children, too. We hope your children enjoyed the camp too and we hope their Sikhi way of life has brought them closer to Almighty Lord, Waheguru.

With Gurus grace, we are pleased to let you know, Sikhi Weekend Part II is coming up this weekend (Saturday 11th March 2006 and Sunday 12th March 2006).

For children aged 5 – 11 years old: Saturday 11th March 2006

For children aged 12 – 16 years old: Sunday 12th March 2006

The times (for both days) are 9am start and 5pm finish. Please fill in the application form provided beforehand, to reduce registration queues and time on the day. Moreover, it will be even more efficient if you can personally hand in the form to Guru Tegh Bahadar Gurdwara Reception Desk (106 East Park Road, Leicester) before the morning of (This) Friday 10th March 2006. You may drop your children of at 9am and you may return at 4.30pm, where awards and photos will take place. There will also be performances by your children, so it would be encouraging for your children to see you there. The presentation and the one-day camp will finish at 5pm. Moreover, you are more than welcome to stay the whole day and help with the camp, too.

Just as the previous camp, this camp is also Free. The theme of the last camp was based around Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj’s Gurpurb and life, alongside the story of Bandi Shorr. However, Sikhi Weekend Part II will be based around Holla Mohalla and the life of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj. This time, there will be even more activities, such as learning Kirtan, learning basics of Sikhi, Discussions, Martial art, Bouncy Castles and many more!

Camps like these cannot be organised without the support of Parents like yourselves, the Sangat, and most of all Waheguru Ji.

Finally, Please bring you child/ren to the camp and please tell other families and children, who are also welcome to register on the day, too.

Waheguru Je Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Je Ke Fateh

Yours Sincerely,

Sevadars

(Young Sikhs of Leicester)
