This reminds me of an incident with Bhai Amolak Singh jee when he was here in Singapore......after keertan, langgar etc etc.. all decided to stay up to wait for amritvela and do paath together......so when amritvela came, paath started.....and this one singh(bechara tongue.gif ...he came straight from work last night if i remember correctly and got stuck with amritvela :) ) started to nod off during paath.....bhai sahib gave one or two nudges to wake him up......and third time round a hard pat was given on this singh's back. twas so loud the singh jerked forward. heheheheh gosh and after that thaapi the singh didnt dare nod off again..he was fully awake and started to recite paath loudly. at that moment, it seemed funny to me cuz it was the first time i saw bhai sahib giving thaapi to someone..but later it occurred to me that hey, if that can wake us sleepyheads up then its a good idea. okie juz wanted to share a story. yall must be getting bored now...i'll ciaoz. :(

i'd suggest that if u have to stay up all night, take a cold shower and keep your back/spine straight while sitting when u do paath...that way u wont feel sleepy, or maybe u wont even yawn...hot water showers make u feel lazy and u might yawn all thru the nitnem...but as jkaur bhainjee said, there is really nothing like sleeping and getting up fresh to do paath wubb.gif ...one time i did japji at 5:40 pm in the evening :):@ ...after i recited 4 pauris i realized that my eyes were closed... LOL...hahahaha :( ...no i wasnt sleeping...i juz didnt realize.
