jokes, knew that would get ur attention.

nowadays we see alot of bibia who have taken amrit wearing makeup.

i know a bibi who wants to take amrit but cant stop wearing powder.

strange that something so meaningless should be so important

we were having a discussion a couple of days ago

and she said that it gave her confidence

this is the only makeup she wears (powder) but

she wanted me to justify to her why she shouldnt be wearing it

i dont really think its my place to tell her what to do

but giving some advice wouldnt hurt.

what can i say?

being a singh, i dont actually know anything about makeup

she says as long as its not a kurehit

and is not hindering her sikhi jeevan then its fine

didnt really know what to say back

please can someone tell me what i can say

coz it seems as if makeup is creating a mask, for people to hide behind.

bhul chuk maaf

vaaheguroo jee ka khalsa, vaaheguroo jee kee fateh!

I think you should worry about yourself, and not what others do. Who cares? In the end, god will only judge you by the actions that you did in this life, not whether someone you know wears or doesn't wear makeup. To each their own.

FATEH!!

rolleyes.gif I dont think he is worried. He is asking for a just explanation to what she said to him so that he can go back and give a reasonable reply.

I have seen this trend aswell. Amritdhari Bibis with make up.Thats reflecting immaturity on their part no.gif . You should talk to a TRUE GURSIKH about this, he can clarify about the rehat marayada that should be strictly followed once you are baptised.

The bibis take Amrit to become Sikh but can't leave behind the Punjabiness that's glued to them...It's not about confidance, its to look 'good' infront of people...this world is all about how you look; superficial ..its not just Bibi's with the problem, it's everyone, even guys with beards wanna gel them so that girls don't lose interest...the only thing you can do is ask the bibi 'apart from confidence, what's the significance in powder? can she say that Guru JI (who is the only person she should please) cares for powder on her skin, or what's under the skin? You can't hide yourself from Waheguru!

And I'm saying that he shouldn't have even asked her why she wears makeup or the topic should have never come up, because it's none of his business really. He shouldn't even be in that situation. Hey, if he wants to be all up in her business, I really don't know how to "help" him out.

not need to powder up the face which can be washed away with mere water.

put that powder which cannot be washed away by anything.

if you really wanna be confident, do naam kamai as prescribed by guruji and your face will become premanently radiant. guru kirpa karey

lol what a Stereotypical view:

"it's everyone, even guys with beards wanna gel them so that girls don't lose interest..."

These kind of comments make me laugh because it just shows how small some people's thinking is.............

punjabiness..lolz

i don't think it's their punjabiness (lol) that makes them wear makeup......it's there........being-not-self-confident-ness (lol) A ot of girls these days are very judgemental of others..and yes a lot of those girls are punjabi (I see it everyday at school) Some girls make fun of others girls for not wearing makep..and also make fun of girls wearing makeup.... :D @ but....yea....ppl just need to learn to be confident with themsleves and not rely on a mask to sheild them from other people's opinions

But, adding to that, I do know a lot of Amritdhari girls who wear makeup...as young as 11 or 12 to be honest no.gif

lol what i meant by that was; there was a topic gelling beard; someone started cos they wanted to know what sikh girls felt about the issue...they weren't thinking about what Waheguru thought about the issue...what I should have written was 'guys gel their beards so that the girls dont lose interest....not all of them just some of them, like not all bibia wear powder but some do'. :D

Bhul chukk maaf karna!

    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
