Regarding the issue of Pictures of Gurus Sants etc this has always been a problem among Sikhs (i just read this in the General Section)

Once a person came to Sant Kartar Singh Jee Bhindran Wale saying Sant Jee is it okay to keep Pictures of Gurus and Sant Jee gave a fitting reply

"we worship only Akaal Purakh who is Akaal Murat but when a child is small it needs some aid to walk same with people who need Pictures when the child grows up no aid needed"

What pictures are for

1) Focus

2) Rememberance

3) Endure Love

Whilst some pictures (like of actors) give a bad impression

some people when saying 'Waheguru' have to focus on the word literally being spelled out in front of them because Waheguru is unreachable and is beyond our ' thoughts' and he doesnt even come in our thoughts! no matter how hard we try because originally he had no form untill Guru Nanak appeared in Kaljug on the sacred full moon night in the year 1469 AD

"The darkness has dispelled and the moon has arisen amongst us"

In Gurbani theres words like the feet of the Guru people who donts focus on the Charan of Nirankaar (ie Guru Nanak) have nothing inside them because they dont know what Nirankaar looks like!!!

because due to their igronance they call Pictures of Gurus as idols and have a fear inside them people will call them idol worshippers

i see people meditating on Waheguru but dont know what he looks like so their love only stops there and cant move onto higher stages

those who focus on the lotus feet of Guru Nanak go in instance 'Smaadhi' because only God himself has this power

so Baba Nand Singh Jee gave Darshan to devotees of Satguru Nanak Dev and asked for full size pictures of Guru Nanak to be placed in Nanaksar where Baba Jee said focus on the lotus feet of Dhan Nirankaar Guru Nanak

some people who used to come to Nanaksar and used to call this idol worship out of igronance and the great sage Baba Nand Singh Ji gave Partakh Darshan (real seeing of Guru Nanak) who himself used to talk with Guru Nanak

but not all agree saying the best Murat is Akaal (Timeless/Deathless) but Nirankaar has 4 forms

1) Nirgun (all darkness before creation)

2) Sargun (sky water life mountains etc)

3) Bani (Shabad uttered from the mouth of the Guru)

4) Guru Nanak (Nirankaar himself)

all the other 9 Gurus where Guru Nanak

The picture of Kalgidhar Patshah at Sri Hazur Sahib was prepared by BrahmGyani Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji

The reason for different pictures of Gurus because those made them made them by their best ability and understanding but those who have had real Darshan leave no doubt

Hope i have removed all your doubts Bhul Chuk Maaf (this is from self experience)
