From a circulating email:

Apparently there is only one month left to register your objection to the new 'pay as you go' road miles tax.

The petition is on http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/ but they won't publicise it and more signatures are required to stop its introduction. united.gif

What it means?

The proposal, if enacted means you will have to purchase a tracking device for your car for £200 and pay a monthly bill to use it.

The estimates from the BBC put the monthly costs at the following:

£28 for a rural florist

£194 for a delivery driver

£86 for a mother who uses her car for dropping the kids off at school.

You will also be tracked. The authorities will know where you are at all times and how fast you're going,

which means penalty points if you go over the speed limit.

Ironic considering that these politicians use gov't paid transport and that companies such as Shell and Esso are said to hold patents for at least 50 years on new renewable energy technologies. In the meantime however the drivers suffer financially.

Dig deep into ya pockets ppl :st:
