THE LAW IN THE UNITED KINGDOM IS THAT YOU CAN ONLY WEAR ONE KIRPAN SAHIB ON YOUR BODY. THIS IS ONE OF THE FIVE KAKKARS SO THE POLICE CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE ITS AN ARTICLE OF FAITH. IF YOU CARRY ANY MORE SHASTAR(S) OTHER THAN THE ONE THAT IS YOUR ARTICLE OF FAITH TECHNICALLY THE POLICE CAN DO YOU FOR CARRYING AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON.

ONE SHASTAR IS ENOUGH JUST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT.

can i just mention one thing. One of my friends is doing law @ uni and i asked him about this.

Technical;ly - and this is very sneaky - there isnt an EXCEPTION for wearing a kirpan!!

what there is, is a SPECIAL DEFENCE. So in other words, police actually can arrest you for wearing a kirpan, and it is up to prosecution to consider if they have a case, looking at the law. Obviously this would never happen, and is a technicaity, but the point is that they havent made an exception. Do not talk to police etc about an exception, just tell them under criminal justice act, and article 9 European Convention on human Rights (which allows freedom to practise religion) we are allowed 2 wear our kirpans.

(BTW noone actuially has been arrested and charged over the exceptions/special defences technicality)
