PM grants 140 million for Sikh temples

LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman Lt Gen ® Zulfiqar Ali Khan announced on Sunday that the prime minister had given a grant of Rs 140 million for the renovation of Sikh temples. He was talking to reporters at Wagah on Sunday. He said the amount was meant for the current year. He said another Rs 1 billion project would be started soon. Under this project, he said, three 200-bed hotels would be constructed. He said the hotels would be established at Lahore, Nankana Sahib and Punja Sahib (Hassan Abdal).

He said the government was facilitating the pilgrims on a priority basis. He said, “It is because of the government’s policies that a large number of pilgrims visit Pakistan.” He said the ETPB had made arrangements including residence, medication, security, food and transportation for the pilgrims. staff report

I know Mr. Manmohan is a putli, but I don't get why would Pakistani PM grants such amount and that too for Sikhs... something fishy grin.gif

So more Sikhs go to Pakistan and visit their holy sites and spend their money there, so the Pakistani government is sort of investing in tourism... sort of so its all good :TH:

i know im being skeptical, but i rekon that most of it will be eaten up by the corrupt ministers, indian of pakistani, and bout 5% might get to the people

have you actually been to pakistan? yeh there is corruption there as well, but the amount of respect pakistani's give to sikh is just amazing. i was blown away by it when i went there
