A rally of some sort might not be a bad idea. When that lad in Scotland claimed a racist attack, hundreds of Sikhs got up there to protest racism within two days. Now these shameful people have done their deed in Handsworth, we should protest in some way if their actions have repurcussions on us, and we should protest against them in force. Time to take a stand against the cancer within us.

I spoke with a friend who is involved in law enforcement. they explained its a general concern and debate about street crime violent crime, gang related crime, knife crime and gun crime. The general feel with concern groups is that tighter regulations are needed and tougher sentencing is also required. The freedom and availability of purchasing knives is going to be looked at again and also the clear marking of replica guns like orange barrel plugs and paint as used in the states is being looked at. There is talk however that the authorities introducing laws about the holding ,handling, carrying on person or transport blades knives sword etc. There are groups who are “actively” asking authorities to look at the “Sikh Kirpan” issue as many campaigners believe its too much of a shady area and open to “interpretation”. As with all things there are personalities behind the scenes who would very much like to see a ban on Kirpans of what ever length and this incident has been the “cherry on the cake” hand out to them. He went on to say. “ If the CPS prosecute and the concerned found guilty, in these sorts of incidents Judges and authorities will always set an example, to send a clear message”

By all means this is not gospel, but it’s a wake up call for us all. In that we need to behave and act responsibly with the jewels Guru Ji has given us and we must never think we have an automatic birthright to express our faith it's a freedom that we have in this country at times exploited and now collectively we may have upset the tolerance and respect the British. They recognised our fathers that fought and died in the trenches of Europe for the freedoms we take so much for granted today. On the same soil that our fathers names are engraved on, have rejected the turban that freed the French nation. It maybe the British may also reject the great sword which humbled them and gave them great victories.
