Bit Of A Problem

Well my parents ave a chip shop (they not Amritdhaari) and they do an indian take away and kebabs and all sorts there. Which means a wide variety of meat is there lol. My mum asked me the other day if i have Nitnem, Sukhmani Sahib and any other spare Gurbani on CDS. I told her i have and asked her why she needed them. She told me that they are going to start playing Gurbani in the shop. I told her that i cant do that as Gurbani should not be played near the presence of meat, alcohal (my dad has bottles there and gets smashed lol) and other nasha. My mum then just went mad and started houtin at me saying "OH THATS WHAT YOU THINK. WHO MADE YOU SO BLOODY IMPORTANT" and stuff like that lol. Izit right for me to have done that or would it have been ok for them to play Gurbani there?

We're supposed to naam jaap 24hrs a day....but gurbani in a meat shop seems very very wrong to me...Fisrt time I saw that happening in Southall I tried to kick up a fuss but my mum said it was ok....I couldnt sleep that night!

If ur parents are eating meat It's def a big hell no and ur dad shouldnt be listening to it anyway, hip hop maybe while ur drunk or high..not gurbani! lol...

If you felt within ur heart that the situation wasn't right then u def did the right thing and I hope you react this way every other time you see something wrong!

Thank you Sadh Sangat for ur replies!! Found them VERYYY usefull! and some very intersting lol, thought id just update u guys....

Bascially ive tried everything!! but my mum wont ave any of it. She keeps calling me a Gyani and says if thats the way i think, i should never have taken Amrit. I asked my dad on what he thinks and he just said "all shops do it nowadays". the bad thing is our shop is 30 mins away so i cant go their by myself. Im really hurt by this that my parents dont believe me and think like that about me. They think that Gurbani can be played anywhere, regardless of the conditions or surroundings.
