according to the punjbai translation by professor sahib singh at gurugranthdarpan.com these lines by bhagta kabir ji is about:

haldi, which is yellow and choona(used for "whitewashing" in india, has some lime in it) is white...when these two mix together, they lose their color. in the same manner when a person loses a sense of high and low caste, he sees only the light of the one Lord in all.
