WHY in the world are people still thinking in that way? Does being a khalsa make you better than an amritdhari sikh with no khalsa on their name? The whole reason why Guru Gobind Singh Ji named us SINGH and KAUR was to show we are the same, WHY are people, even amritdhari sikhs acting in this way? Isn't that being disrespectful to our guru. Why are people going against the Guru by not keeping the names KAUR and SINGH!

He is saying that why do some people who add the word 'khlasa' after their name think that they are superior than a baptised Sikh who put only Singh or Kaur after their name.

I have never come across this myself. But clearly, the OP has.

Why don't we take this a bit further. Why do some baptised Sikh's think they are superior than someone who is not baptized :rolleyes:

We shouldn't use Khalsa as family name. We should use our traditional names, but not practise them as casts, just family name, and something to identify.

Because if we always use Khalsa, at once we will have thousands of Rajinder Singh Khalsas.. While now there is one Rajinder Singh Ahluwalia, another Rajinder Singh Manjh so we can identify and seperate two persons.

And also, especially here, in western world, if you put Khalsa as your family name, then your off springs will also get Khalsa. And for example your grand sons then cuts his hair and does many bad things. His family name will remain Khalsa which would put a stigma on 'family name' Khalsa which many Sikhs will wear as family name which isn't. This will cause for much problems.

I feel there is nothing wrong to have Khalsa as last name , but one should never boast about it and feel superior and consider other as inferior.
