Making Of The Sri Guru Granth Sahib

When guru Argun dev ji compiled the guru granth sahib, hoow did he do it? what i mean is were the previous guru's banis written down on paper when guru argun started the sggs or did guru argun write down what he heard by word of mouth.

There were written banis available in form of 'pothis'. There is a shabd by guruji "piyo dade da khol dhhita khazana..." which he uttered before compiling guru granth sahib ji.

After completion guruji called it 'pothi parmeshwar ka than' (the pothi is abode of god).
