Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I am a married male considering taking my amrit shortly. My wife fully supports my decision, recites path daily and too would like to take amrit at some point.

My question is, is it essential that my wife and I take amrit at the same time or is it ok for me to take amrit and her to do so when she feels ready to.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Is both spouses taking amrit at the same time essential or is it just considered good practice. What i mean is, is there any bani or rehatnama that says it is necessary for both spouses to chak amrit at the same time. Not trying to cause any arguments, just trying to get some clarity on the issue.

It is best that a married couple partake Khande da Amrit together so that they both share & follow common Rehit Maryada as conveyed by Punj Piyaras.

If one gets baptised and other does not or both follow seperate Rehit Maryada's then this difference in lifestyles wll create problems.
