Pira sangaat ji i am posting this sunbject as it is a bit confusing. I would also like to make clear that i am not picking on any one.

The girl and family took the school to court and made a media concern about not being aloud to wear a Kara. This a good thing as ALL SIKHS should be wearing one.

But then there is a bit of a contrediction. THe girl has cut hair and how much of the other part of Sikhy does she follow.

She has repersenting Sikh but left it open for people from different religions and race to ask question, such as "if she is wearing Kara and it means so much to her that she took the school to court why does she cut her hair in that not also agaist your relgion?"

Plase could you give your points on this as well. I like I have already said I am not out to offend any one.

The case in question was not judging the level of the girls Sikhi, instead it was a case focusing on religious freedoms.

"if she is wearing Kara and it means so much to her that she took the school to court why does she cut her hair in that not also agaist your relgion?"

The simple answer is that the case was instrumental in defending the principle of religious freedom, the question of spiritual commitment or level is irrelevant. An individual and many individuals are at different levels of spiritual commitment, however, this is not grounds to overlook their freedom to spiritual practice.

It is a weak logical debate to resort to personal attacks rather than focus on and address the question and principle of the issue at hand.

The issue is the freedom to wear a Kara, whether the girl cuts her hair or not does not impact whether this religious practice is a protected freedom or not.

Thats a very goog point

Thank you ji
