chamkila bro you would be better off asking at your local gurdwara, they would know as theres lots of gurdwaras in UK arranging coaches to go to London for the march

the march starts from hyde park, before the coaches reach there, there is a stage where speaches are made and respect is paid to those Gursikhs who laid down their life protecting Sri Harimandir Sahib.

last year it was like this

coaches will leave from birmingham about 9am

reache london for about 12.30

the march leaves for about 1.30 lasts for about 3 hours

finishes at blackfiars

Sangat Jee

Sri Guru Arjan Dev Jee was the 1st shaheed and the founder of the Harmindar Sahib.

June 3rd 1984, on this day thousands of Sikhs from all around the world went to Harmandir Sahib to celebrate the gurpurab of Guru Ji.

This Gurpurab (a day of remembrance and celebration) was the day chosen by the Indian government to attack the heart of the Sikh nation without any warning what so ever. The reason this day was chosen was to maximize casualties. along side the golden temple complex over 40 other gurdwaras were invaided.

The worlds 3rd largest army attacked the canter of out faith and disrespected out holy Guru Granth Sahib Jee by openly drinking smoking and killing in its presence. A Giani was also shot whilst reading the Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

Our sacred Guru Granth Sahib Je was urinated on, burnt, ripped limb by limb and spat on. Irreplaceable articles some written by our GuruJi’s themselves were burnt in an ettempt to wipe out the very essence of Sikhi.

Although the army entered in thousands and was heavily equippe

d with heavy artillery and even tanks, the Singhs and Singhniâ’s inside Darbar Sahib complex fought till there last breath restlessly. It had taken the army 3 days to gain control over the golden temple complex. Visitors to the Golden Temple (including women and children) tried to act as barriers to the complex but were mercessly wiped out. The official number of people killed in the attack was around 400, unofficial figures went over 10,000. During this time all reporters were asked to leave Punjab and all power and water supplies were cut. Punjab had no communication with the rest of the world, and during this time the Indian government was telling the world that Sikhs are terrorists. It is known that at lease 2,000 Sikhs had left there positions in the army and were either imprisoned or killed for doing so. At this time, Sikhs worldwide was in a state of mourning while fanatic Hindu extremist organisations were distributing laddooâ’s as a reward to the soldiers who were specially picked and trained for the planned attack.

Following this attack, the anti-Sikh Indian prime minister Indira Ghandi was punished by her 2 Sikh bodyguards, Bhai Satwant Singh and Bhai Beant Singh. A 4 day orgy of raping, torturing, burning, looting and butchering of Sikh men women and children followed this, which started in Delhi and spread throughout Punjab. This was entirely down to the Indian government who did nothing at all to stop the brutal acts upon innocent Sikhs.

Over the last 2 decades a WHOLE GENERATION of Sikh youth have been wiped out by the Indian gvt.

Since 1984, over 250,000 Sikhs have died at the hands of the Indian government through shootings, violent repeated rapes, toucher and abduction. Over 60,000 Sikhs are still in Indian prisons and have no rights to any legal services.

It is for these reasons, we ask you to support your kawm, support the nation you are born to it’s the least we owe to Sikhi. If you can put aside time for TV, football, the internet, clubbing, cinema etc, you ca

n put 1 day aside to support the Sikh Sangat and remember our shaheeds.

Come here to remember the shaheeds 20 years on since 1984. langar will be served at 11am in Hyde park, following speeches in English and Punjabi about our rich history and about our shaheeds whom we must never forget. Following this will be a march lead through the streets of London lead my the Panj Pyare. Please bring ramaals / chunnis as you will need them for the beginning and the ending of the event.
