A Huge Slap, And I Need Source Because I Loved It

Recommended Posts

Jo Sikha Ko Puche Jaat Soh Sikh Nahi Mero Aad Jugaad

Those who ask a sikh's caste, they are not my sikh, they never were, and they never will be

--Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jee Maharaj

First off, I LOVE this bachan of Maharaj, but you know how some of our new age educated yet bahman-minded Punjabis are. So I am looking for the exact source of this if someone has it. This wasn't answered on another thread one year ago, so I am asking again.

Secondly, this bachan makes it clear how BADLY Maharaj wanted this cancer out of our system. He wanted to uproot it from the very foundation itself, and so He banned even asking a fellow Sikh about his/her caste, forget about anything else. If you don't know their caste, you won't judge them a particular way. I guess this was Dasmesh Pita ji's way of uniting us. But Punjabis tried to be clever. They started using their "surnames" other than Singh/Kaur so that their caste was reflected anyways, whether they were asked or not. Others were even more clever and would ask the last name instead of asking caste, thereby pretending to stick to Maharaj's bachan and also sticking to the caste cancer.

To the casteists: Do what you can, do what you may, you are not smarter than Kalgidhar Shahenshah! Feel free to run after castes, and then feel free to make a fool of yourself by claiming to still be a Sikh! You know how you call a wrong number and ask for the wrong person, thats what is happening with you.

Ok back to my original question, I am looking for the source of this bachan by Maharaj, not for myself as I have full faith in SatGuru ji, but to help those are still lost in the illusion that Sikhi is "cool" with castes. Sorry its not.

2 weeks and no replies, yet we need a one liner to create 7 pages of hateful posts.

Great job

And I know why there are no replies. Lets not even go there :)

sori veerjee Mehtab Singh jee only came across your post this morning if not i would have commented on it earlier.and i agree with you of course about no jaat paat in Sikhism. As to the source of your tuuk ill see if i can locate it. There are however lots tukka on that in SGGS too as u know .

My 1st lesson on jaat paat came wen i was about 7 or 8. i had written to the sikh missionary society in singapore to send me some pamplets and tracts on Sikhism but in my letter, after singh i put my family surname. The gursikh who sent me the parcel of books and tracts wrote a covering letter telling me there is no jaat paat in Sikhism and told me never ever to use my family surname after the word singh and i adhered to that ever since . Of course as i became amritdharee later and learnt Gurbani i realised why .

I am so excited that you share Sikhi with others . Just ask my help if you need me send you any books ,tapes etc to share with others as i can help you in that .

Thanks Bijla Singh veer, I will wait for your input.

Thanks veer "humkire". I appreciate your noble gesture. I strongly believe that this cancer of "caste" which has crept in from Hinduism will have to be uprooted in order to achieve Khalsa Raj. I honestly don't see any logic/point/reason behind it, and its beyond retarded to be existing in a community which was born to end manmade differences. We can't blame people who are not into Sikhi for following it, but what kills is when those (especially elders) who claim to be "committed" are no different.

Bhaji I do not know where the source of this rehitnaama is, but jee I can tell you something else. Only if your willing to listen though jee. If you really want to find the answer to your question, go ask guru jee at the gurudwara. But at the same time, you need to have that raas, cus if you don't......let's not go there jee :D. ok so lets just stick to your first question jee, yeah. my take on it will be to go to the gurudwara and make a plee. :D

stay in chardikala singha
