Sat Sri Akal, I have just noticed on Sky TV (UK) that Channel 838 whioh used to be a channel on Punjabi culture and had Sikh related programmes is not showing purely Islamic programmes? It still has the name Punjjabi TV and a few other Islamic channels have popped up next to the Sikh channel (Channel 840). I think this has been done on purpose as a way of luring other people notably punjabis to watch these channels! Please be cautious as the panth is continuously being targetted whether it be Ludhiana or London!

These muslims have an action plan for everything.

media, work, schools, after leaving school, councils, politics etc etc. they are very crafty in the way they present an argument for anything.

they have kept the name ‘punjjabi tv’ in an attempt to wheel in desi Punjabis… when the channel only promotes islam. Then they show all these freaks in green turbans men women and children in a pathetic attempt to establish a link with us. well it is not going to work. there are so many issues within the pakistani community (drugs, terrorism, peado's, rape, no family / community values etc) most of us would rather stay clear of them - as most of the are beyond help.

The channel is now owned by Muslims so why not change the name from Punjjabi TV to something more appropriate like Muslim or Islamic channel or TV Station.

Lol, relax. There are more Muslim Punjabis than Sikhs.

It is like a Sikh channel being called Pakistani channel or something!

No it isn't - Punjabi is the most widely spoken language in Pakistan. 2/3 Punjabi speakers in the world are Muslim - mostly from Punjab in Pakistan. Also, the Punjabi spoken in Lahore etc is alot more shud than the one spoken in most of Indian Punjab, which has been mixed with Hindi and now English.

Yes there are punjabi muslims....but you do have a point. At the same time we can argue about the same thing against Britasia tv. Remember when they used to have the Keertan played in the mornings? shouldn't they change there station to sikh channel or somthing??

Again, there are more Punjabis who are Muslims than are Sikh.

We have plenty of media which call themselves "Punjab Radio" Punjab TV, Punjabi Times, etc which are really Sikh-focused media.

Since Muslims comprise a majority of Punjabis, why don't they have the right the word Punjabi? There's more to Punjab than the Indian-controlled part.

60% of Punjabis are Muslim, only 25% are Sikh.

While Pakistan has 76 million Punjabis, India has only 29 million.

Although I agree that there is phenomenon of aggressive proselytization in the UK, any Punjabi (even if he's Muslim) has a right to the word Punjabi.

The Punjabi language in Pakistan has been mixed with Urdu and Farsi. So even that is not pure.
