The feet of the Saints are the boat, to cross over the world-ocean.

maarag paaeae oudhiaan mehi gur dhasae bhaeth |1|

In the wilderness, the Guru places them on the Path, and reveals the secrets of the Lord's Mystery. ||1||

har har har har har harae har har har haeth |

O Lord, Har Har Har, Har Har Haray, Har Har Har, I love You.

oothath baithath sovathae har har har chaeth |1| rehaao |

While standing up, sitting down and sleeping, think of the Lord, Har Har Har. ||1||Pause||

panch chor aagai bhagae jab saadhasangaeth |

The five thieves run away, when one joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

poonjee saabath ghano laabh grihi sobhaa saeth |2|

His investment is intact, and he earns great profits; his household is blessed with honor. ||2||

nihachal aasan mittee chinth naahee ddolaeth |

His position is unmoving and eternal, his anxiety is ended, and he wavers no more.

bharam bhulaavaa mitt gaeiaa prabh paekhath naeth |3|

His doubts and misgivings are dispelled, and he sees God everywhere. ||3||

gun gabheer gun naaeikaa gun keheeahi kaeth |

The Virtues of our Virtuous Lord and Master are so profound; how many of His Glorious Virtues should I speak?

naanak paaeiaa saadhasang har har anmraeth |4|9|39|

Nanak has obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Company of the Holy. ||4||9||39||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Salok mehla 3

ਸੂਹੈ ਵੇਸਿ ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਪਰ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਣ ਜਾਇ ॥

Soohai vaes dhohaaganee par pir raavan jaae ||

In her red robes the discarded bride goes out seeking enjoyment with another's husband.

ਪਿਰੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਮੋਹੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥

Pir chhoddiaa ghar aapanai mohee doojai bhaae ||

She leaves the husband of her own home, enticed by her love of duality.

ਮਿਠਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਖਾਇਆ ਬਹੁ ਸਾਦਹੁ ਵਧਿਆ ਰੋਗੁ ॥

Mithaa kar kai khaaeiaa bahu saadhahu vadhhiaa rog ||

She finds it sweet, and eats it up; her excessive sensuality only makes her disease worse.

ਸੁਧੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਲਗਾ ਜਾਇ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ॥

Sudhh bhathaar har Chhoddiaa fir lagaa jaae vijog ||

She forsakes the Lord, her sublime Husband, and then later, she suffers the pain of separation from Him.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਪਲਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਾਜਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥

Guramukh hovai s palattiaa har raathee saaj seegaar ||

But she who becomes Gurmukh, turns away from corruption and adorns herself, attuned to the Love of the Lord.

ਸਹਜਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥

Sehaj sach pir raaviaa har naamaa our dhhaar ||

She enjoys her celestial Husband Lord,and enshrines the Lord's Name within her heart.

ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸ+ਹਾਗਣਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥

Agiyakaree sadaa suohaagan aap maelee karataar ||

She is humble and obedient; she is His virtuous bride forever; the Creator unites her with Himself.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਸ+ਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੧॥

Naanak pir paaeiaa har saachaa sadhaa suohaagan naar ||1||

O Nanak, she who has obtained the True Lord as her husband, is a happy soul-bride forever. ||1||

ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Salok Mehla 3

ਸੂਹਵੀਏ ਨਿਮਾਣੀਏ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥

Soohaveeae nimaaneeae so sahu sadhaa samhaal ||

O meek, red-robed bride, keep your Husband Lord always in your thoughts.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੁਲੁ ਭੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥

Naanak janam savaarehi aapanaa kul bhee shhuttee naal ||2||

O Nanak, your life shall be embellished, and your generations shall be saved along with you. ||2||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Salok Mehla 3

ਸੂਹਬ ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ॥

Soohab thaa sohaaganee jaa mann laihi sach naao ||

The red-robed woman becomes a happy soul-bride, only when she accepts the True Name.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈ ਰੂਪੁ ਚੜੀ ਤਾ ਅਗਲਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥

Sateigur apanaa manaae lai roop charhee ta agalaa doojaa naahee thhaao ||

Become pleasing to your True Guru, and you shall be totally beautified; otherwise, there is no place of rest.

ਐਸਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇ ਤੂ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਭਾਉ ॥

Aisaa seegaar banaae tu mailaa kadhae n hovee ahenise laagai bhaao ||

So decorate yourself with the decorations that will never stain, and love the Lord day and night.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਖਸਮੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

Naanak sohaagane kaa kiaa chihan hai andare sach mukh oujalaa khasamai maahe samaae ||1||

O Nanak, what is the character of the happy soul-bride? Within her, is Truth; her face is bright and radiant, and she is absorbed in her Lord and Master. ||1||

ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Mehla 3 ||

ਲੋਕਾ ਵੇ ਹਉ ਸੂਹਵੀ ਸੂਹਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਕਰੀ ॥

Lokaa vae ho soohavee soohaa vaes karee ||

O people: I am in red, dressed in a red robe.

ਵੇਸੀ ਸਹੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਸ ਰਹੀ ॥

Vaesee sahu na paaeeai kar kar vaes rehee ||

But my Husband Lord is not obtained by any robes; I have tried and tried, and given up wearing robes.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣੀ ॥

Naanak tinnee sahu paaeiaa jinee gur kee sikh sunee ||

O Nanak,they alone obtain their Husband Lord,who listen to the Guru's Teachings.

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੰਤ ਮਿਲੀ ॥੨॥

Jo tis bhaavai so thheeai ein bidhh kanth milee ||2||

Whatever pleases Him, happens. In this way, the Husband Lord is met. ||2||
