Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Regardless of who sang it, they words are still powerful. Chamkila believed in this song, that is why he sang it. Can only one who is absolutely holy unravel the meaning behinds these words? I believe that if everyone sees the truth behind these words than it holds significant bearing.

Let's not show prejudice to the song because of who sang it. Despite what many people believe if you actually listen to the songs of Chamkila, you will find he was singing about the ails that plagued our culture and society. Many of which, we ignore to recognize and rectify today. Though his songs were strong and sardonic, they revealed many underlying things about our culture that we cover up today. I think they were controversial because he showed no discretion to how he shone light on the issues. He did not hint at it, he just sang about it so everybody could here and address it. He never sang against Sikhism. He sang FOR Sikhism in my view. He revealed truths, (albeit grim) about human nature and the degradation of punjabi society.

This song is a testament to the truth he wished to seek no matter how controversial. We cannot judge a man based on the songs he sang so quickly. Listen to a few of his songs, optimistically, and you might see that he was sending a message not an attack. Maybe that is why Akal Takhat allowed him to make such albums. Maybe that is why Akal Takhat allowed him to make such albums.

but not all paths will lea u to vaheguru je

He's right!! There's only room for this world's 16 million Sikhs up there.

Guruji clearly defines that Muslims who murder in the name of God will not achieve God..

and hindus who worship their gods will not reach God.

God is found in humanity not somewhere far or in some lifeless stone..

You're right: and that's why I said what I said. There's 16 million slots up there. No more.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

In the end, many religions bow down to one God. Even in Hinduism, many of the lessor gods are just personalities of One.

Therefore, Guruji identified that in a way, everyone was in some way connected to Waheguru.

Not all muslims kill in the name of Allah, and many Hindus identify a highest entity in their thiestic hierarchy.

And isn't it nice to know that at one time all religions will converge to Waheguru? Isn't that an ideal situation. We are all Sikhs because we are all disciples of Waheguru. It just takes time for some to realize than others.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

this is wat ive read in bani and pretty much found through sikhi

anyone can get to vaheguru je, regardless of relgion, caste, creed, watever

we can all make it

but only those who akal purkh blesses can make it

people like bhagat dhanna je who hadnt ever met guru je found vaheguru je in a rock

just through sincere and innocent love to vaheguru je, bhagat dhanna je found god and attained mukhti and became one with vaheguru je

but, once u get brahm gian, u denounce the fake gurus like ram, mohamaad, vishnu, not because they werent good people

but because they were only at the level of gian khand

guru je however, was one with vaheguru je, and was at sach khand

so wat happened was mohamaad, ram, everyone like them were beloveds of god

they were great

but, when god sent them down to preach gods name, they forgot vaheguru je and they made people worship them and make people say their name instead of gods

then, all these religions were started

but since the gurus of their religions were beloveds of god, all relgions have truth in them

so, after vaheguru saw that all of the prophets didnt do wat they were told, vaheguru asked guru je to come

then guru je came onto this earth, and since guru je was one with vaheguru je completly, guru je drank out the cup of naam, was given the gift of naam, and vaheguru je told guru nanak dev je to go out into the work and give people the gift of naam

thus, the base of sikhi was created

then all 9 other gurus nurtured sikhi and sikhi slowly evolved, and then guru gobind singh jemaharaj created the khalsa panth as god had commanded, and thus si

khi was completed

so, guru je made a fast, easy way to attain mukhti while living ure daily lives

but other relion cannot get u there because there prohpets had forgotten vaheguru je

so, if ure blessed with sikhi and amrit, u are truly blessed and shud be grateful for if u keep reight and love vaheguru je u will make it to sach khand

but even if u werent blessed with amrit and sikhi, even then, if akal purkh has kirpa on u, no matter who u are or where ure from, if vaheguru je has kirpa, u will make it to sach khand

bhula chuka maf

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
