Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Zabar zalem di zalema ne hadh mukiyee

Tyranny and oppression has reached its limit

Hoye piyasse khoon de vahi bhahi bhahi

Brothers thirst for the blood of their brothers, my friends

Keeti ilit farangeeya kee barteya bhana

You wreaked such havoc, foreigner; and how you abused His Grace

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Toon hindu te musalmann si hik naal launda

You embraced both Hindu and Muslim

Iko ram rahim ne gal beh samjonda

Ram and Rahim are One, you explained

Hai raste vakho vakhre par ik tikana

The paths are diverse, but the Destination is One.

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Ethe baba barteeya bariya tukdheera

Here, Baba, we have expended many lives

Tharti kook panjab di hoyi phut ke leera

Panjab’s beloved landscape has been ripped into rags

Panda teenda band ke begaya karana

Families have distributed their belongings and split up

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Ehte bhahi bangay ne bhahiya de vari

Here, brothers have become adversaries

Kodeh rak

hish jamm paye kai vali khundhari

Koda Rakhs have been born, and many Vali Khundaris

Choran ne paleya sadhan da bana

Thieves sport the holy man’s apparel

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Pani vandleh zalema tharti ma rohi

Distribute the waters, oppressor, and mother-earth wept

Akhi akeh tak le duniya adhm hoyi

Come, look with your own eyes, this world is half what it was

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

From us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Hai sad’tho baba kholeya tera nankana

O, from us, Baba, your Nankana has been stolen

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

This is a beautiful song written by Swarn Sivia.

I'd love to analyze this poetry with my veerjis and bainjis.

I think its a crucial peice on the condition of our culture today.

Again, I welcome any healthy discussion.

if u r talking about the following, i think it means that guru nanak dev ji gave love to both hindus and muslims and that he explained that ram and raheem is one.

Its actually a classic song sung by Amarjot Chamkila.

About the part that was brought up in discussion, here's my take on it:

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji interpreted Ram and Rahim as simply the Hindu and Muslim God. Since God is One, (Waheguru), incidently we all preach of and pray to the same God.

"Hai raste vakho vakhre par ik tikana

The paths are diverse, but the Destination is One."

I think this statement really outlines the Oneness of Waheguru, so unique that it is celebrated by every religion. Each faith promotes Matha Taikh to the highest One, our Waheguru.

Any views?

Of course, there are paths that are in direct opposition to Waheguru, but I believe that many of the recognized faiths today in part are connected to Sikhism. Oneness (or monothiestic beliefs) are prevalent in many faiths. I believe that these faiths all Matha Taikh to the One Waheguru. That being said, it is only a matter of time before these distant Sikhs learn of our common destination and join us on our journey to the true path.
