Laptop Battery Problem..

For those of you who cannot see the picture i have attached, the battery icon on my laptop (in the tasbar) is saying "there is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly" and "consider replacing your battery"... it hasnt shut down yet and the battery icon has a big red cross next to it, sometimes it goes away though

My question is... should i be worried?????? Or can i just ignore it???

well, basically this requires the change of battery but you can run your laptop on the AC power means keep your adapter plugged in all the time. so this shouldnot be a problem!! hope this gives a little of help...
