To the poster,

Throughout our lives god tests us and every single moment tries to push us closer to him- he gives us riddles and hints and urges us to recognise that all he is doing is out of love- the most happiness comes from the Truth. At the moment we live in a Lie- near to Total illusion. The gyan of gurbani is the first step, however reading it bears no fruit if we do not dicover it ourselves. Naam is the second step(or equal first) and through naam we do not just read the gyan in gurbani, we physically and mentally begin to experience it (we discover it ourselves).

Recoginsing the message god is giving us every single second of our lives coupled with committment to naam simran and the bhagti path (including good deeds and seva)is living in truth as we are cutting the layers of maya bit by bit, going deeper into ourselves to find the Truth.

The gyan of your experience is that worldly relationships come and go and are false. We come alone and we die alone and all that is left is god- The relationships we have here on earth are with shadows (people who do not know themselves due to the five vices) hence they cannot be real or lasting or truly fulfilling.

The only real relationship we are able to have is with god as he is the Truth, not a shadow/lie/illusion. The vice of Attachment is said to be a vice for this reason- how can it be light when it is false- it's like being in love with a cartoon character, it's not real.

Therefore we should love all unconditionally for the sole reason that all is god but remain detached from the imagery as it is false and the lord is of no form.
