Bhia Bala Not In Purtan Janamsakhi

i was reading max arthur maculiffe's translation of the oldest janamsakhi and it doesn't mention Bhia Bala Ji does anyone know why? It suppose to be the oldest janamsakhi. I think it was written in the 1500s.

Scholars have said the Bhai Bala Janamsakhi is a fabrication and was actually created after Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time.

Bhai Gurdas has left out mentioning him.

Refer to Karam Singh's conclusions in "Kartik or Baisakh" -

• Historical places are called by their new(later) names.
  
• Shabads that were revealed later(of Sri Guru Amardas Ji and Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji) are used(when the Janamsakhi is said to be have written before)
  
• It talks about the Masand system(which was introduced later by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji)
  
• The Khalsa Fateh is used

Bhai Bala Narrates the Janamsakhi and is in it.

Bhai Mani Singh Ji's Janam Sakhi has Bhai Bala ji in it. You would have though Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji would have told Sikhs if Bhai Bala Ji existed.

Baba Meharbaan and Bhai Chatarbhuj's Janamsakhis of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji have Bhai Bala In them.

Janam Sakhib Baba Nanak Shah has Bhai Bala in it.

Sri Nanak Parkash has Bhai Bala in it

Bhai Bala Ji's Samadh is at Gurdwara Sri Khadoor Sahib which was established by Guru Angad Dev Ji.

There are lots of fors and against. Alot of people make such a mentions as to the works of Bhai Gurdas Not having his name within it. Depends who is translating them as Bhai Vir Singh and Bhai Hazara Singh mention Bhai Bala Ji. Just because Bhai Bala Ji might not be mentioned in the vaars does not make him a mythical person. Bhai Sahib did not cover certain events or things or contain the names of every individual linked to th Gurus.

Exactly, there are many things for it and many against it(Bala Janamsakhi).

Bhai Bala may well have existed, but the Janamsakhi has many things that are clearly wrong.

Even Kavi Santokh Singh said he felt it(Bala Janamsakhi) was corrupted by the Hindalis.

These are prob scholars of the missionary college, who may have seen aline or 2 that they couldnt understand, and hence label it as fabrication. The best thing to do is to read it for yourslef and see how you feel. You like it read it again! You dont like it dont!. Job done.
