The race for SGPC chief’s post hots up

With the Shiromani Akali Dal sweeping the SGPC elections, the race for presidentship of the premier Sikh religious body is set to hot up in the coming days. It will not be easy for SAD chief patron and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to chose the next SGPC president with several senior leaders in race for the post. Badal, who is invariably authorised by party members to name the president, has always sprung a surprise with his choice of president.

How can a politician decide the next SGPC president. This is wrong, the SGPC president should be elected through a proper process not hand picked by this dusht (enemy) of the panth. Makkar has been selected 6 times in a row.

The president of the SGPC should be a Gursikh of the highest character and knowledge. The current options being mentioned, Makkar and Jagir Kaur do not meet the requirements. Badal will most probably pick Makkar or Jagir Kaur.

What is most dissapointing is that Badal has the support of Jathedar of Akal Takht. Sangat tv also flew in the Jathedar to make a speech. What a shame, so called 'sikhs' have no problem with the current leadership.

I hope sikh channel keeps up the pressure and on Badal and Akal Takht Jathedar because sangat tv wont. Same with PTC news channel (owned by Badal), they only show pro Badal news as was the cas in Ludhiana Khand.

The point is that, Badal has control of the media, even in UK it seems (sangat tv) and control of the our two main institutions (Akal Takht and SGPC) and even support of Sant Samaj.

The panth is asleep and many have been bought with money. This must be one of the lowest points the panth has reached.

What makes current situation bad is that it is our own 'sikhs' doping the damage.

I keep hearing RSS, India govt, center intelligence and whatnot.

But this is our own 'Sikh' party doing the damage.

Our own community in Panjab voted for the corrupt thug Badal.

This is definetely the era of Kaljug.

We should do ardas veryday for chardi kala of the panth sangat ji.

Only by kirpa of Akal Purakh can we achieve chardi kala for Sikh Panth.

Guys, the situation is alot worse then Badal just selecting the SGPC president. Badal also selects the Jathedar of the Akal Takht. He can also get rid of him when he likes. So the fact is, that at this moment in time Badal is the highest temporal authority within the Sikh faith and not the Akal Takht. FACT!
