this thread is for shastar enthusiasts sharing information on how to do seva of cleaning the shastar

what do u use to clean ur kirpan, khanda, tega

what do u use to give dhar sharpen the blade

how do you clean the rust on pataa (blade)

if there is fungus mold (ullii) formation inside the myan how do u clean it

my problem is i am near the coast and there's lots of humidity so what happens is there is mold(ulii) formation inside the myan which puts stain on the pataa when its rainy its disaster then on the pataa and the myan inside

so my main question is any desi tarika to clean the mold from inside the myan as that's the challenging part due the arching shape

Please use coconut oil to oil shastars do it once in a week. And sharpen using whetstones

veerjee i have been doing so with coconut oil but the mold inside the myan is staining the shaster badly so badly that i am compelled to use sandpaper to clean the stain every single time which worries me that using sanding paper so frequently might damage the pataa

any solution for the mold(ullii)

Singh use wax wax ur blades and it should stay good.. Oil dries out after a week or less increasing the chances of rust, mould etcetcetc
