All languages are beautiful in their shuddh form. Except, patois which I find irritating. Just kidding. Ultimately, we should endevour to learn all languages due to the changing world. Being multi-lingual has major benefits because it allows you to think in multiple ways. Studies have shown being mult - lingual activates certain segments of the brain that are otherwise dormant.

In the end, if punjabi, hindi, urdu etc.. are worth saving then their proponents will not let them die.

This hindi, urdu, punjabi debate is a north indian debate. In south india its tamil all the way with its rich history, tradition which is probably older than sanskrit itself.

There are many languages in South India like Kannada, Telegu, Malayalam, Konkani, not just Tamil.
