Gurdwaras In The West Midlands

Recommended Posts

I recently went to Birmingham for the Vaishaki parade and thoroughly enjoyed the event especially in Handsworth park where there were lots of stalls with various activities.

I have never been to Brum before, and visted a few temples for the first time as I was following the procession. One thing I noticed was. that in one of the Sikh temples there were ornaments and pictures of Lions and also a big rug with a lions head on it. I have never seen this before in any Sikh temples and was wondering what this was for??

I thought that we as Sikhs are not really suppose to have pictures or ornaments of animals in the central stage of temple apart from pictures of our Gurus.
