Why We Should Say Noooooo! To British Sikh Military Regiment

Ok I was pretty indifferent to the British army's consultation of creating a Sikh regiment or re-establishing it since the days of the british empire.

Now the reasons why we should oppose such a move is listen below:

1) 1980s The british government / establishment authoritised state violence and arms supply to kill thousands of Sikhs in darbar sahib in 1984 operation blue star and the followup operations in the killing fields of punjab

2) The British establishment is responsible for desmantling the Sikh empire and Sikh rule and therefore creating Pakistan and India for their own economic selfish power base reasons. They left Sikhs as refugee's in lands hostile to our people as historical events has proved.

3) If British Sikh troops are deployed in unjust wars for economic oil land resourse stealing agenda's like in Iraq and afghanistan then it will reflect really badly on the Sikh community. It will show us as a bad guys invading peoples lands and attacking civlians. The british army had a good reputation until iraq were now everyone see's them as pawns and cannon fodder used for the elites in power to grow their investment portfolio's.

Also lets remember amritsar 1919 vaisakhi say april 13th when British Indian gurka troops were used to mass murder punjabi's by gunfire on orders of general o'dwyer resulting in the killing thousands of innocent mostly Sikh punjabi protesters calling for an end to british imperialist rule. To this day Gurka's are seen as an evil force by many punjabi's.

4) Sikhs have not had any official apology for events of 1984, nor any help or support creating a sovereign Sikh state where Sikhs will truely experience the glow of freedom nor given compensation for all the huge damage they caused on the Sikh live and property in india. The British establishment is quite happy with the way things are as India is a huge economic bloc useful for trade and economy. So human rights of Sikhs do not matter, they are expandable. Therefore no British Sikh with a brain can justify any support to a government and its armed forces that does not has any of its interests at heart.

Very True. Sikhs should not take part in illegal wars that are started by the elites for their personal greed.

The Khalsa should not be part of a army that loots, kills, and completely ruins another country.

I don't know much about the British Military but I know that for sure, Sikhs should NOT be in the US Military.

How can "Akal Purakh ki Fauj" be part of an army that does this:

Keep in mind that the main principle of the Khalsa is also Self Defence

    • Anyone linking the "kenyan" style turban to Ramgarhia caste is stupid lol. It came from the Jat-only Sikh Regiment in British India (folded, starched single dastar without a pinch). It's called "kenyan style" as Kenya is where it's most popular today and has a lot of Tarkhan living there but it's originally from Jatts in India. Dastar actually opposes caste as a concept anyway so it really doesn't matter.
    • you can use nrimb.com this matrimonial site is very helpful to find Sikhs and other matches for marriage in Canada.
    • Is there a need to insult someone's Dastar style? Feel some shame When you see a Sikh wearing a Dastar you should smile and think "that's my brother" ,not laugh at how he chose to tie his Pagh. Maharaj made a brotherhood in the Khalsa not a fashion contest.
    • Respectfully, this isn't a good idea bro. This is a Sikh forum so it's best not to be distracted with other topics. Most people who visit this site don't have accounts and have questions about Sikhi so we do seva here by educating the Jaante as well. Maybe create a subreddit on Reddit for "casual Sikhs" over there. It would be better as you could link that with r/sikh. And also there are like 4 people still on this site so you won't get much response. It's really inactive here most people use reddit now
    • Sikhs can sleep nanga-sirr if they choose to . Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM. The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh
