Sikhs beware, those praising "helpful sarkar", justifying the injustices and tyranny of "helpful sarkar" are either extremely ignorant or are clandestine agents of "helpful sarkar".

The title of the thread signifies ideas even more important than just "fauj" or army. It signifies the very basis of freedom, liberty and sovereignty that enable any organized people to raise and maintain an army. In order to reply or answer this extremely important question raised by creator of this thread, it is important to understand the basic foundations and truths on which freedom, liberty and sovereignty of any organized social group of people depend. It is explained as below -

Irreducible complexity is a term used to describe a characteristic of certain complex systems whereby they need all of their individual component parts in place in order to function. In other words, it is impossible to reduce the complexity of (or to simplify) an irreducibly complex system by removing any of its component parts and still maintain its functionality. Also as per irreducible laws of God or nature, liberty regardless of its type or manifestation, is like a three legged standing table. Thus it has a very delicate balance. In order to maintain this delicate balance, all the three legs of liberty have to be firm, in equal amplitude and footing.

The three legs of liberty are knowledge, property(wealth) and violence. Damage or remove any one or more of these three, liberty does not remain liberty. These three are ageless, dynamic, enduring, living facts and truths, able to transcend both space and time. They will last for all time. They are not a Rubick's cube, something to be "figured out" or "solved". Depending whether one is friend of liberty or enemy of liberty, any or all of these three can be used for positive or negative purposes. All fundamental rights or human rights are children and dependents of these three facts and truths. Let me explain these three very briefly below for purpose of illustration:

Knowledge includes all kinds of knowledge, all its manifestations and means. Thus fundamental rights of conscience, expression, religion, speech, means of communications, setting up proper organizations, both overt and clandestine, intelligence gathering, running media propaganda and the like are all also its children and dependents.

Property includes all kinds of property, its all manifestations and means. Thus fundamental right of property, right over one's own body, intellectual property, running business, trade or commerce, the power to regulate or tax and the like are all also its children and dependents.

Violence includes all kinds of violence, its all manifestations and means. Thus fundamental rights of self defense, right to keep and bear arms, right to raise and maintain armed forces and the like are all also its children and dependents.

These three legs of liberty are all inalienably linked together with all the three of themselves. And all through the ages to this day, there is a constant conflict between friends of liberty who protect these three legs of liberty and enemies of liberty who attack these three legs of liberty. Whenever any of the three legs of liberty are damaged or shortened by enemies of liberty, the table of liberty is on the brink of destruction, in due course of time it looses its balance and falls. Now with example of three legged table, I have explained how the three legs or foundations of liberty are important for the very existence and enjoyment of liberty and its subset sovereignty.

For ease of understanding, now let me explain below with another concrete example, about how sovereignty is dependent on liberty, how liberty and sovereignty is bound to fall with the fall of any one of the three legs of liberty.

Lion is called King or Sovereign of the jungle not without a reason. He is sovereign because he has all the three pillars of liberty, no other animal in jungle can surpass his ability to protect the three pillars of liberty. He has first pillar of liberty called knowledge i.e. he knows how to hunt. He has the second pillar called property i.e. marks and possesses territory where he hunts. He can unleash violence i.e. powerful teeth and claws. Remove any one pillar of liberty, other two pillars can't support the weight of his liberty. He is no more sovereign. See how it happens in examples of facts and truth below:

Remove or bypass knowledge, like hunter lays a hidden trap. Lion has no knowledge or understanding that there is a trap. He gets trapped. He becomes the slave or prisoner of hunter. His liberty is finished. His life is also at the mercy of hunter. He is no more sovereign.

Remove the property i.e. territory of lion by allowing another lion to defeat him or by putting him in cage or zoo. He is slave or prisoner. His liberty is finished. His life is also at the mercy of hunter. He is no more sovereign.

Remove violence i.e. remove the teeth and claws of lion. He becomes the slave or prisoner of all those who have teeth and claws in the jungle. His life is also at the mercy of enemies of his liberty who have teeth and claws in the jungle. They do what they want, like injure, torture or kill him. His liberty is finished. He is no more sovereign.

Above example is equally and similarly applicable to any organized group of people(including Sikhs), or the State they had created or intend to create. Remove or damage any of the above mentioned three pillars of liberty for any organized group of people, or the State they have created, freedom, liberty or sovereignty no more belongs to them. They get reduced to slaves and are at mercy of those powers who enjoy all the three pillars of liberty. One may also call the three pillars of liberty as grundnorms of freedom, liberty and sovereignty. The State power also rests on controlling these three pillars of freedom, liberty and sovereignty. It is done by mainly by controlling communications and its means, subverting it by intelligence agencies, regulating, taxing trade and commerce, and maintaining coercive force like police and military.

During 1700s, the Sikhs were very much aware of these three pillars of freedom, liberty and sovereignty. During those times they did not comprise any of these. They had extremely high standards of ethics and morality. They could not be allured by money, property or luxuries of life. Even when money was paid to them or were bribed, they never used such money for their personal comforts, luxuries or gains, it was used for common goal of freedom, liberty and sovereignty of Sikhs. Their organizational skills were very good. The quality of means of communications, quality of means of regulating, taxing trade and commerce, and quality of means of violent force of Sikhs was at parity with the Mughal State. The Mughal State had horses and human couriers to communicate messages, so had the Sikhs. The Mughal State levied taxes, so did the Sikhs using Rakhi system. The Mughal State had, swords, spears, guns and the like, so did the Sikhs have. Only thing lacking with Sikhs was the numerical strength, which they compensated by various means. The result was Sikhs became sovereign rulers.

During 1800s, especially during Ranjit Singh's rule, compromises with the three pillars of liberty began. Importance of personal comforts and luxuries started gaining importance. His first compromise was with first pillar of liberty, that is knowledge. Instead of maintaining high standards of morality, he started marrying multiple women. The result was that their relatives guided by lust for power, later on became one of the causes for destruction of Sikh Empire. He failed to foresee how his legacy would be carried or flourish after his death. He suspected those who actually died fighting for him. He trusted those who betrayed the Sikhs. He did not have the knowledge or foresight to understand that opportunist Dogra brothers from Jammu and others from present day Uttar Pradesh he is hiring will betray the Sikhs and join hands with East India Company for personal gains. He trusted them due to stupidity. Stupidity is never rewarded by history. Then trade and commerce was allowed to East India Company through rivers. East India Company started infiltrating and intelligence gathering. Sikhs never realized all this until they became slaves.

During 1900s, the Sikhs were unable to fathom the political conspiracies and games of the Congress party. They failed to realize that Congress is just a refined version front of Hindutva nationalism. They trusted the untrustworthy. Even when Jinnah realized the game and refused to trust the Congress and demanded Pakistan, the Sikhs failed to understand the game of Congress. Who is to be blamed?

Now let us come to 2015. Out of the three pillars of freedom, liberty or sovereignty, which pillar is under the control of Sikhs? Fortunately the first pillar(knowledge, their mind power) is under their control, provided they use it properly. Knowledge always wins in the long run. If this pillar of liberty is used wisely, in due course of time, control of other two pillars of liberty can be obtained or rather seized. Communications and super encryption of communications is very important. Unfortunately the means of knowledge(read means of communication) is not under the control of Sikhs. It is under the control of the Indian State. The Sikhs have practically no control over the Indian State. The Indian State can always tamper with the confidentiality, integrity or availability of knowledge and information available to the Sikhs. It can feed them confusing or misleading information also. It can even suspend the availability of the means of communications. For example during recent protest by Sikhs, mobile and internet services were suspended in Jammu. Similarly many Facebook and youtube pages supporting the cause of Sikhs have been blocked in India.

Similarly the Sikh children in schools are being taught confusing and misleading information. Sikh institutions have been clandestinely subverted so that they serve interests of Hindutva forces. How this can be overcome and Sikhs can always maintain communications with entire world at all times? For this, the Sikhs in diaspora have important role to play and drum up support with governments(rather policy makers of these governments) aligned with Sikh interests, as well as talk or hire experts in these scientific fields. There is something like miniaturized, micro or nano satellites. They don't cost very high. A large number of them can be launched. The Sikhs in diaspora can help buy, hire or launch these satellites so that Sikhs can access these for all purposes including super encrypted communications, using commonly available or with slight modified equipment like satellite TV dish antennas, dish boxes or computers. The key is use of the best and the latest technology, keeping out the clandestine agents of Hindutva and anti Sikh forces infiltrating into Sikh organizations, maintaining proper communications, proper education and proper organizations, especially running world class self sustaining intelligence organizations.

Sikhs also need to understand the Geo politics of South Asia. During any war, the huge army, navy and air force of China is pretty useless without continuous supplies of fuel from middle east. For this China needs supply line running through Pakistan. America as well as India want to cut this supply line buy gradually finishing the Pakistani State. Either China will have to prevent Pakistan from finishing or make alternate route to the middle east. The shortest alternate route to middle east can be through Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujrat. This can only be done if China succeeds in finishing the Indian State. One reasonably accurate and detailed analysis of this unfolding scenario has been explained in the following link http://www.sikharchives.com/?p=2148
