Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Just saw this on tapoban.org:

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji retrieved from Hilton Hotel, London. (21st November 2004)

Yesterday, three young Sikhs were set upon when they went to the Hilton hotel in Park Lane. They had gone to

investigate an unconfirmed report that Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji was going to be present for a wedding ceremony.

Incomplete information had been provided anonymously to the 'Respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Campaign'. Having entered the hotel, they found and paid respects to Guru ji. The bards was headed by Harbans Suraj from

Gillingham, Kent. Also praises were being sung of ‘Sant’ Madho, This ‘Sant’ has partaken in promoting this abuse of Guru ji. His name was also on the invites distributed by the families.

One Singh was grabbed and physically pushed out of the 'ballroom' where Guru ji was present. He was asked 'You here to cause trouble aren't you?' The Singh replied that we are here just to find out what is going on and nothing else. A crowd of guests from the Groom’s side surrounded him and the other Sikhs, shouting and pushing. When a security guard approached they calmed down, but then started to punch at the three Sikhs. One Singh was punched in the face by a member of the Groom’s side. The police were called and a complaint of assault was logged by the Sikhs.

The three Sikhs waited outside for Guru ji’s saroop to emerge. The police had been informed that the Sikhs would be waiting to see where Guru ji was brought from because it was against Sikh ethics and

code of conduct. The

police did not have a problem with this and left. After, an hour of being watched by security, a van was seen entering the hotel via the goods in entrance of the hotel, which was in a filthy state. Also this entrance is in constant use with deliveries including that of alcohol and meat. Hilton security tried to intimidate the Sikhs by blocking their car and telling them to leave. The Sikhs refused and insisted that they had a right to wait in their car and they could do nothing about it.

After waiting another hour, a group of concerned guests approached. They apologised for the behaviour of the family and other guests. They made it clear that bringing Guru ji to the hotel was wrong. They also apologised for the attack on them, and wanted to help resolve the situation. The so-called Granthi's were afraid to come out. The Sikhs said they were prepared to wait as long as it takes - either they would take Guru ji saroop to a safe Gurdwara Sahib or they would follow the 'Granthi's' back from where they had come. When they were told this, the 'Granthi's' immediately agreed to hand over Guru ji’s saroop. The three Sikhs washed their hands and did an Ardaas in front of Guru ji to ask for forgiveness. After an hour of travel, Guru ji saroop reached a Gurdwara Sahib where a Granthi Singh was waiting and Sukh Asan was done after an Ardaas.

Thanks to the young Sikhs for taking this matter up and getting Guru Ji out of the clutches of those who undertake acts of profanity.

I still fail to see why this mater is not escalated to the Akal Takht so that the people behind these acts punished.
