After information on the Sikh religion

Hello so I’m after some advice the beard that a Sikh male has can it be trimmed to keep it tidy.  Also the knife they carry does it have to be with them at all times (example if they were in the military). And also the undergarment they wear does it have to be worn at all times.

1. To keep your beard tidy, assuming you leave it Flowing and not tied, you can use Beard balm.

If you are in military, you can always tie your beard, with hair spray or you can even use a BEARD JAALI. Any veteren sikh soldier can tell you abt that.

2. The purpose of knife that a sikh carries is basically to defend themselves. If you are in military then you prolly gonna have weapons on your body so no worries. 

The reason it was provided was because there was a constant threat to the sikhs by neighbor powers and thus Guru sahib Told sikhs to always carry a KIRPAN. To protect themselves.

3. You can use any undergarment you want. Again, it was provided because sikhs were going to fight on battlefields and ride horses. And a DHOTTI wouldn't be much help.

So in my opinion, With undergarments, its more like Guru sahib made sikhs of that time more Gentlemen, rather than finding spirituality in a PIECE OF CLOTH.

Trimming beard is not allowed for Amritdharis.

Rather we wash it everyday and comb it.
