I was wondering is there anyone here who learnt to write punjabi on their own. I can read and speak  well but can't write. I don't have a punjabi teacher. When I was a kid I used to go to punjabi class, but as an adult its hard to learn because you just don't know how to compared to my brothers who are coming from punjab. Like what type of exercises, stuff do you do. In the west punjabi is not a school subject.

Please don't be generic. If there is anyone with experience that would be wonderful.

How do u do paath from Gurbani Gutka for daily nitnaym if u don’t know GurmukhiPanjabi? In r family we highly value Persian and Panjabi as these are our miripiri languages. Panjabi being mother tongue of Beloved Guru Baba Nanak and Persian being language of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s short lived Sikh Empire where not one man was put to death in 80 years. Contrast with USA police state that consists of highest number of citizens behind bars per capita in entire world, Prison bars not sharabkhanna.

Of course due to demographics there were lots of citizens under Maharaja Ranjit Singh who were reverting to Islam. By the way my research proves jannat paradise and svarag are all the same place. Only about two percent qualify for a spot in svarag as svarag is for genuine tapasvi. I am frankly appalled at the number of idiots in our so-called panth who r not fluent in Panjabi what to speak of Persian FYI in their purest forms Persian Farsi and Sanskrit r virtually identical languages. I myself die if I am not able to live my private home life in Panjabi. I can’t function in the absence of Panjabi. I fall apart emotionally without being able to hear and speak and read GurmukhiPanjabi.Osho says mother language of lovers spouses must match for how can there be intimacy unless language of in utero life is identical ? Osho says it is enough to love one person and Osho says listening to Sheikh Farid shabad in Panjabi will break ones heart fyi real first name of BabaFarid is Ram. Sufi influences..Vedanta is great.

Khalistan declared April 1986  fyi r National language is not English which is just for Kirat earning a living — it kills me to see people doing kirtan than proceed to yap with their so-called friends in bloody angreji. My sweet German Friends & neighbours possess infinitely more honour: at home their children r prohibited from speaking english - German only or French, no english.
pr108?off topic but modi the kakistocratic war criminal belongs behind prison bars at den Hague awaiting trial on war crimes.bastardy of kaljewg kakistocrats create conditions where everyone is a minority then the bastardy majoritarian dravids engage in collective punishment pogroms deceptively euphemistically termed as riots. The Dravidian bastardy did this to Panjab and now Kashmir. The matriarchal <banned word filter activated> fakehindooDravidian madrasi have no surname no gotra .

Pure RigVedic Religion is Dharmikpatriarchy that protects vulnerable members of society. Kakistocratic Mudrace hindooizm is the worst form of governance in kaljewg hence their alliance with issrile. See utube channel realhistoryindia- their blog was shut down by hindusthani mobs but their blog will return. One of their best articles was in relation to the ongoing Jat genocide. I will not get into details here as most of u people fail to understand significance of lineage in all matters dharmik.  Kindly consider restoring my account at this website. ?

Since you got no answers, ima be generic:

There are kaide/books that are for people who know english, its called Learn Panjabi in 52 days or something. You can google it.

also basics of sikhi ( a youtube channel) did a series on how to learn panjabi.

But I have taught panjabi before and can teach you to read it in less than a week. Panjabi is very easy to learn to read and write. You can PM me if you want to learn.

  • 2 weeks later...

WJKK WJKF. I actually learned Punjabi (Gurmukhi) on my own last year and then I took Amrit. You may not believe this but I learned Gurmukhi in 5 days because of YouTube Videos. There are 5 videos and you have to do one a day (with homework). I guarantee you will be successful. Just do ardaas to Maharaj and He will guide you. Just search it on YouTube. All videos are labelled 'Learn Gurmukhi in 5 days'.

I hope this helps and all the best!

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
