Hello all,

Please can you help me. My father passed away on Tuesday, I am trying to arrange his funeral but am unable to get a priest from the Gudwara to lead the cremation ceremony due to the Covid-19 situation. I will have to play recorded prayers etc instead but I am not a practising Sikh so do not know what would be appropriate and how to go about this. Does anyone have suggestions for the prayers that should be read/played please? My dad was Sikh and my mum Hindu, so she is also unclear on what to do. Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It must be a difficult time.

The banis mentioned above can be played. An Ardas is also required.

Perhaps once lock down opens you could arrange for an Akhand Path at the Gurdwara to give peace to his soul and some comfort to yourselves to get through this.
