new years resoloution

a story i just found somewhere

it was new years day, as the clock struck 12.30 and the ardas had just happened at our gurdwara. a loving father asked his three children what their new years resoloution was.

"bheta, what will you try and do this year?"

his 14 year old son replied "papa ji, i want to excel in my studies"

he moved on

"puthar, what do you want to try and achieve this year"

his twelve year old son replied and said "daddy ji, i want to get somewhere in life, and i will do that by gathering money for my family and save it!"

he moved on

"son, you are the youngest of them all, your two older brothers want to excel and do well in life, acha dassu, what do you want to try and do this year?"

his eight year old son thought for a while, and replied "i want to be a gursikh...and take amrit now!"

the father replied "you have to do paath...and lots of it in order to do what you want to do"

the eight year old replied "then that will be my new years resoloution, do more paath and become at one with guru ji"

If back to front, IMMHO I think it becomes a case of- 'little knowledge is dangerous'! God help me!
