I was about 10% certain a couple of hours ago, now I'm 99% certain I'll be there.

Perhaps we will have an opportunity to reflect on Sikhs in the Square, Worldwide Candle Lit Vigils - 17 January 2006 and look forward to the conference 'Making Sikhs visible to Decision Makers' - 1 February 2006 and June 2006 Rally and March for Remembrance, Justice and Freedom.

We seemed to have got the Indian Government worried by our more innovative and creative ways of involving Young Sikhs and getting the message across to non-Sikhs.

Balbir Singh Bains - gave a very moving talk about his experiences in jail - after he was kidnapped from his Taxi while in Delhi and falsely accused and held and tortured. After much international political pressure and campaigns (mainly in the UK) he was freed after 4 yrs. Others are not so lucky and he urged us all to remember them.

"Hell on Earth" is how he described the jail in Delhi where he was imprisoned and where he also met Davinderpal Singh Bhullar.

And to all those who say that holding protests, raising awareness and generally publizing the plight of our forgotten brothers and sisters; for all of those who say this is a waste of time, well Balbir Singh told us how important these actions were, how everytime those in jail heard about these events they became sher's again and it helped lift their spirits.

He told us that we have to do more, and to not forget those languishin in jail, where they face daily hardships and have to fight to maintain their rights and where Singhs can be heard Naam Japping through out the night, where they barter to obtain the essentials so that they can make degh and celebrate Gurpurbs and maintain their rehat.

He had so much to say and there was complete silence throughout his long and moving talk. Totally awe inspiring.
