Guidance Needed

Hello All,

It seems a good platform to discuss my scenario and get proper guidance. I have been trimming my beard in past and recently I have stopped trimming my beard. I wished to take amrit with Guru kirpa, but now my beard length is becoming very long and it makes me think to reconsider my decision. I keep my beard open but don't know if will not make any difference in professional life to work in a company? With guru kirpa, I am vegetarian and do 5 baani nitnem daily. Please guide me if I am unnecessarily compelling myself for Amrit as bani says "Jo priye maane tin ki reesa, koorae moorakh ki haathesaa". rab rakha

Only take Amrit if you are willing to give your head to the Guru.if u feel u are uneccessarily compelling yourself you may perhaps need to reflect on yourself and establish what Amrit is and its importance and then if its for you at all. Khalsa isn't a wish wash of people following like sheep. You habe to uphold a rehat , a high discipline lifestyle and give your life to the Guru.

I have a long beard and it hasnt stopped me in the professional world. There are challenges but its certainly not going to stop you getting a professional job at all. Again you need to reflect why you are growing it and whether you are forsaking a gift from Guru due to influence of Maya or not.

i keep my beard flowing ,

waheguru is making me work in IT company as a TL.

the main hurdle is your own family or the rishte you gona get they going to say tie your beard,

so its hard to find singhnie who doesnt want you to tie your beard,

for me its like this saroop is my father Guru Gobind singh ji's den

and its on rent for me till this chola lives

to alter this and tie this beard would be tying my fathers beard which is unacceptable

however,

you also need to take care of your hair , if you work in a hazardous envoirnment , you can tie your beard enough so that it doesnt come in your way

but as you are stating for professional life.,

the answer is No!

it wont make a different , they see your work .
