Amritsar Capped with a big golden dome, proudly erected in the heart of a miserly town, flagship of a pitful squadron, from the top of its bronze walls muffles the big temple murmurs of coloured believers and complaints of the martyrs of its faith. Amritsar! Gone is meditation time, stopped are these religious moanings, suppressed usual psalms covering your cold obstinacy. Open is the road for confrontations fights, massacres of their faith. Amritsar Out of the fiery mouths of cannon spitting the darkest intolerance towards you one day shall the clouds of hope go hoaxing liturgical fabric for ever. Amritsar! Amritsar ! Hope and life of a sickly people …

Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I got this in my email and it was really inspiring...just thought I'd share it with the Sangat. It's a bit long, but its really worth the time. Siri Kirtan Sohila Sahib In Sikh history, there are two events which show the importance of Kirtan Sohila Ji’s Bani: 1st Event After traveling for many years and showing the people of the world the path to God, Guru Nanak Dev Ji came to a land near the banks of the Ravi River. This Land belonged to a wealthy man named Krori Mal who donated this entire land to Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The land was renamed to Kartarpur. Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent the later years of his life here in Kar…

Each summer in Himalayas On a mountain trek to Hemkunt Sahib You see miles-long-lines of humans, Trekking slowly bare-feet, in sneakers Or on mules, all huffing and puffing For breaths of fresh air and Drinking glaxo-glucose dissolved in water For an extra ounce of energy. The trek is smothered with mule-droppings, When dry and hot in the summer sun, Forms a golden cloud of dust covering everyone. They inhale the droppings--dust, Cough and spit it out, And chant: “Wahey-guru, Wahey-guru.” When tired every hundred yard They take rest in the tea-shacks For coke, pepsi, samosa and kachori And eat fritters fried in fat That looks and smells…

A Sakhi Of Guru Gobind Singh One Day the Rababis sang a Shabad before the Guru and the sangat sat in rapt attention. The Sikhs said to the Guru "Sache Patishah, the rababis have sang so sweetly" The Guru did not say anything. Again the Sikhs said "Sache Patishah, the rababis have sang so sweetly" . The Guru replied "The Rababis have certainly done a good rendition but the shovel is with them (Par Kahi inhhan hi paas hai)." The Sikhs asked "Sache Patishah, please explain to us the expression the shovel is with them". "The shovel is with them is a story which I shall relate to you" stated the Guru to his Sikhs. An official lived in a village where there was a persian …

The reward of meeting a Sadhu Because of the devotion of a certain Sikh, Baba Nanak went and sat outside that Sikh's town. The Sikh was very hospitable to other Sikhs that passed through the town. When it came time for his guests to leave he would ask them "Brother, what is the reward gained from meeting a Sadhu ?". The other Sikhs would give different answers but none that satisfied him. One day Baba Nanak visited his house. The Sikh served him with great devotion and early next morning he asked Baba Nanak the same question "Sir, what is the reward gained from meeting a sadhu ?". "Tomorrow you will learn the answer to your question " answered Baba Nanak " At a cert…
