The following are some pictures I have collected of a Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Saroop that is approximately 200 years old. This is the Bani of our Father, Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj. By not accepting it as our Pitha Jee's Bani- as Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee says- ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਚੋਂਦੇ! I already have millions upon millions of Sins on my head, I do not want to add more sins unnecessarily onto that bundle by not accepting the Bani of my Father. Dhan Dhan Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee! Please view and share, the pictures are on Flickr at this link: The Pictures are in no particular order:

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Akbar was a famous king of India. He is known as "Akbar the Great' in history. He was a kind and good king and respected the Sikh Gurus for their teachings. He always showed respect to the House of Nanak and had a special liking for his religion. In the year 1569, Akbar came to the Punjab and wanted to see the Guru. So he sent a message to Guru Amar Das that he was coming to visit him. The Sikhs were very happy at the news. Some Sikhs thought that special arrangements should be made to welcome the king. The Guru thought for a while and said, "Akbar is as much a human being as others are. The Guru's place is open to all. The king…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Amar Das laid the foundation of a Baoli (a well with descending steps) at Goindwal in 1559. All Sikhs joined in the work of digging the Baoli. There was great activity throughout the construction of the Baoli. After digging very deep they struck a large stone which hindered any further progress. The Guru asked the Sikhs if there was any one who would be courageous to drive a peg into the base to remove the obstruction. He did, however, warn that the operation involved great danger because if the person could not avert the gush of the water, he might be drowned. At this, Manak Chand of Vairowal, who was married to a ni…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH There lived a devout Sikh named Prema in the village of Talwandi. He was lame, but yet able to walk with the aid of a crutch. He used every day to take a pitcher of milk to Sri Guru Amar Das Ji Maharaj, who drank some himself, and distributed the remainder among his guests. One day in the height of the rainy season, as the roads were full of mud, he set out with his usual offering. The village chaudhri frequently observed him going and coming. On this particular day the chaudhri remained at home, and, having nothing better to do, watched the Sikh, and furtively took away his crutch, saying to him, 'Go not to-day ; there is t…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH In order to satisfy Bhai Bala Ji's curiosity to know what was the specific job that was executed by him, that had pleased Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, the king of kings and the saint of saints, Guru Angad Dev Ji narrated a number of stories: "Once, it was midnight time, I was alone with Guru Ji, and none besides. He said, 'Bhai Lehna Ji, the day has dawned,' and I repeated, 'Yes, O Lord, the day has dawned.' Then Guru Ji gave me his clothes to wash which I carried to the pool. There it was mid-day. WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH "Once Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj undertook a long fast. He would neither eat nor drink anything. Several years passed. He would not put even a grain in his mouth. Offerings of money were abundant. Cooks amongst the disciples were instructed to prepare and serve food to the Sikhs for their sustenance. All kinds of food were available which the cooks served to the Sikhs with the permission of Guru Ji. But Guru Ji himself would not take anything. There was always a big gathering of people at meal times. As many as twenty thousand people joined in at meal time. Guru Ji put on the appearance of a lunatic to frighten the …

The tenth King Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji was at Sri Anandpur Sahib delivering His Sikhs to Sachkhand. A Gursikh who would complete his daily prayer of the Panj Granthi (a collection of prayers from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) with love and respect made a mistake. The Gursikh was made to realise that Gurbani is an ang (limb) of Guru Ji, and making a mistake while reciting Gurbani is like hurting Guru Ji. Following this Pyare Bhai Daya Singh, along with other respected Gursikhs requested the following to Guru Ji. "Oh keeper of the poor! Bless us with the understanding of Gurbani. Without an understanding we don't whether what we do is correct or incorrect." Satguru Ji w…
