I want to keep this topic for the elder members who are serious about Sikhism and have a real interest in following Gurbani and are Practically searching for the Path. Subjects i was thinking of covering and looking for other peoples input are: - Path in Sikhism, where do Jatahs fall within this, the confusion around large personalities in all Jatahs and does that mean its not debatable or that we are misunderstanding what they were telling us and are maybe all saying the same things. - Realms. What does this mean for the implications of a possible spiritual realm and being accessible this through jaap. (reading this for many it may be the status quo, and in a way wat…

http://sikhchic.com/1984/straight_talk_an_open_letter_to_the_citizens_of_new_delhi_india T. SHER SINGH My heart bleeds over the brutalities suffered by Jyoti Pandey and her friend, and the suffering that their families are going through. I also feel the pain of the women in your city and of their families: the terror of having to negotiate the world every time you step out of your home to go to work or school, to step out in your neighbourhood, or to move from one to another to shop or visit or play or merely enjoy the amenities of life in a city. Your leaders, both political and religious, have already played their cards. Theyre not about to let you change anythi…

I came across these panktis in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee. http://www.sridasam....lish=t&id=68170 I think (and I could be wrong) what it means is follows... Does this mean that there was a time in history when a full scale massive shift in the duties of all people in north India at that point of time? Remember that according to Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee, this happened just some centuries before Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Patshah Jee Maharaj appeared, as just after these panktis we find the following panktis... And then I am curious as to what was the primary reason behind this kind of shift in duties based on so-called castes. Please see the link above and…

I have studied many different religions and have found that lots of the different religions have the same core principles but different actions and ends. If we stay singular in this world instead of coming together, many regretful things may come about and already are. We all have a purpose in this life and we have to know how to fulfill that purpose. If we close or mins to think that anyone else may be just as correct as we are then we miss out on several opportunities if pre happiness by enjoying the qualities of everyone leading to racism ethnic cleansing and wrong action in general. Everyone had something to offer in this world and we have to open or minds and or …

Hot water for his master Another legend that has been passed along for centuries by disciples of Sheikh Farid, narrates an important episode during the time he was serving his spiritual mentor Khawaja Qutubudin Bakhtiyar Kaki. Sheikh Farid used to arrange hot water for his master's ablutions. On a very wet and cold, stormy night, he realized he had no way to light a fire, as every thing around was either cold and humid or wet. So he left the sanctuary in search of fire. He kept walking through the dark rainy night, and had become quite wet and started to shiver, but he did not give up his search. Finally, he perceived a light at a distance and he started walking…
