Depressed.

Exactly a year a go I failed a uni exam ansd ever since i've felt like a total failure. Immediately after that exam i was severely depressed for several months. I became really unsociable (didn't want to see/talk to friends). I even felt jealous of them), I used to cry for no reason at random times, I felt as though the whole world was against me. I felt as though I was the ugliest person in the world and nobody would ever want to spend their life with me (unless if i have plastic surgery which I can't yet afford). Even the thought of suicide crossed my mind, however I knew that this was wrong- Guru ji has blessed me with a life and I have no right to end it, only He …

hello sangatji. theres the gal i love. we have been in this for the past 5 years. we have never been really together but always in constant touch. i always wanted to marry her but she kinda always avoided to be seen as a couple with me while in college. but she never paid any attention to anyone else, i mean there was only one guy and that was me (yes i am sure abt this). but she never acknowledged me in front of her friends but was sweet as sugar in private. even her family knows about me. i was crazy like a fool for her and she knew it. but we could never be really together as a couple not even like good friends in front of her circle of friends. that used to bug me a l…

wearing red uniform 1 2

wjkkwjkf. so i have a job at emirates airlines and ofcourse as my uniform i have to wear red. I am amrtidhari. i understand that red is something the hindu army used to wear but is that even relevant anymore? why is the colour red an issue? it's not written anywhere in any rehats apart from nihang and taksaali rehats and i recieved amrit from an sgpc gurdwara so it's not in my rehat but most iportantly not in bani that wearing red is wrong. anyone that says that red invoke lust has some serious explaining to do. that's like saying wearing ankle socks invokes lust because i can see other people's skin and it isnt a sikh thing to do. i go to work and earn my money honestly …

Humilation Or Not.

This happened to me on Saturday. I normally do sangat and do my share of sewa. I went to an asa kee war keertan. I thought the people that usually do asa kee war would show up late as usuall. I started in the intention that the Granthi at that Gurdwara wants the Asa Kee War finished by 8:00am. I thought if I start at least it will help the kirtanias save time rather than go overtime. So I started it was 6:30am no one showed up. I kept going for the respect of Guru Jee. It was 7:00am no body showed up. I asked Granthi Singh is anybody coming he said no. I asked him do we have any tabla player from the ragi jatha he said they are sleeping. I though I did a good deed after 2…

WGjkk WGjkf I always say that I would do anything and keep my gifts that Guru ji has given me. Even up to this day, He keeps sending me these wonderful gifts but one thing that has filled up my heart now is FEAR... fear of losing it all. I searched so long to finally get Amrit and now Im always haunted about what would happen if I didnt have it, if I didnt have sangat, or Guru ji's Faith... I had earlier asked a similar question here on the forum but I really now think my destiny is gonna take me the opposite way. I cant even focus anymore, for all I can think of is, Guru ji please dont take My Amrit away... What all brings the biggest trouble here is getting married…

Anxiety On Religion 1 2

Ok. I am a Sikh who is currently suffering from mental health problems. A while back I was in such severe depression that I wrote a contract to change my religion. That was the beginning of my mental health problem. Also, I followed numerous episodes that threatened my existence. It seemed to me that I was becoming more and more schizophrenic every day until I calmed down around August. Right now I feel like I have to follow through with my contract because I signed my name on it. However, the therapist says that it just a distortion. I guess that my biggest question is that is there any sikh brother or sister that is suffering through the same distortions that I …

wjkk wjkf I am going to start working again soon after two years of being jobless! i am in my 20s and had series anxiety problems, i was on medication too! I am going to start working again, its only a small job but its a start. In these 2 years off i have been getting close to Sikhi and want to help our sikligar brothers. I know there are Sikh charities out there to help them but i'm just wondering which one is the best in helping them out? As much as i would love to go India and help them out i really can't do that right now, so was just thinking which charity to donate too ... At my local Gurdwara people can give unwanted clothes and pandey/kitchen stuff whi…

Hello, I have seen many people in south asia, particularly Sufi muslims have their hair down and have turbans tied on top. Is it compulsory for Sikhs to have the hair in the top knot form? If so, why?
