Well I grew my hair for 17 years.. and I feel like cutting it. I grew it long because of my mum and dad and cos they don't want me doing fashion or anything .. my dad cuts his hair, my mum grew her hair but because of age its not as long as mine. I cant paint my nails, do makeup, wear dresses/skirts. when I was young I could but as I grew up.. in yr6 things changed. I don't care about dresses or skirts or makeup. I feel like cutting my hair as its too long and cos im not religious im confused. my siblings had long hair but my bro and sis cut theres cos my bro couldn't handle his so my dad and mum allowed it and my sis cut it on the sly although she got told off. I fe…

Does this require pesh? I am confused and concerned 1 2

I did post this yesterday however I am not sure whether it didn’t come through or the admins thought it was a joke or someone being silly and did not allow it. However I can assure you that albeit it sounds quite silly and quite yucky I am genuine asking this question to the cyber sangat for advise as I don’t know whether this scenario requires to be brought for peshi or not. There is two parts to this: I know this sounds silly and a little yucky but I tend to pick my nose regular as I get a build up (possibly because I have a lot of nostril hair) and many times when I pick my nose some nostril hair gets picked out with it. Is this wrong? Should I be more care…

1947 Kabali Raid Kashmir Eyewitness Account
by Guest Harkiran Kaur- 1 reply

Since I can't post anymore after being banned for sticking up for AKJ (and I am not even AKJ lol) anyway since I can't post this under my own account, still wanted to share. Eyewitness accounts from survivors of the 1947 Kabali Raid in Kashmir. I got privilege to work on this project. It's only first episode (I did the editing) and for future episodes I also got to do all the video shooting as well. Can honestly say it was difficult for all of us seeing the emotion coming upon recalling the tragic memories. Their stories need to be shared.

Vjkk. Vjkf. I would like the honest opinions about this post from the sangat, please. I really, REALLY need to know what I should do, & I'm not about to ask my parents what they think. My uncle (youngest brother of mom) married my aunt 2+ years ago. Exactly 4 weeks ago, my aunt announced that she was 7 weeks pregnant. She didn't seem too pleased & we were confused 'cause we know that she & my uncle really wanted a child. 2 weeks ago, she told us (the extended family), that 3 weeks ago she found out that her husband, my uncle, has been cheating on her, & that he still is. She told us that she found out he has been cheating on her since half a year ago.…

Sometimes when I do Naam Simran or meditation. I start feeling intense pressure at the crown of my head where the jura is. Sometimes I feel like someone trying to drill a hole through there and sometimes I feel something sharp like a knife poking there. The sensations come from the inside of the head to the crown. The exact feeling is that of .. some sort of pressure has built up at the base of the crown and trying to be released. Can someone explain what it is and give some reasonable explanation. Is this positive sign or negative sign or some symptom of energy blockage. Thanks All.

So my brother doesn’t keep long hair, I do. My brothers reason is. ‘I just wanna live life, I don’t wanna follow being a Sikh even if it’s true I don’t care’. Now my cousin keeps long hair but he’s been pushed into being a Sikh. He really doesn’t know much. Now recently, My brothers been asking him ‘when he’s gonna cut his hair’ like it’s a definite thing. It seems that my brother is getting around to my cousin now and I’m asking my cousin why would u cut it and he’s staying stuff like ‘it’s too hard to manage’ like what? He’s saying he might cut it before uni or something, How can I persuade him around? I’m trying to learn myself as much as I can about sikhi bu…

Where To Sit?
by Guest Kaur- 7 replies

Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa vaheguru ji ke fateh I have a question I hope you can help me with. At my local gurdwara in the langar hall there is mostly tables and chairs, and a very small area for eating langar whilst sitting on the floor, say for about ten people max. Hardly anyone sits on the floor to eat langar, however I choose to sit there and also my children sit with me too. Many times we are the only ones eating langar whilst sitting on the floor, whilst rest of the sangat is sitting at the tables and chairs. Now should langar be eaten all at the same level? Therefore should I be joining the majority by sitting at a table and chair? I do feel sometimes feel I am singl…
