Feeling A Bit Down 1 2
by Guest ehauehuaehu- 12 replies

why do Sikh families look down on the turban/beard so much? My cousins from India phoned me today after seeing a picture of me, for the following reason "trim your beard down, it looks gross" I was shocked. I politely told them to leave me alone and that it didn't bother me. A few weeks ago we were at my cousins wedding. My brother is a mona who was convinced to tie a turban that day. Everyone kept coming up and telling my brother how great he looked, then came up to me and told me to learn how to "clean up" based on how my brother looks. My parents also always comment on my brothers appearance, while never saying anything positive about mine. Ever. These little thin…

by Guest UK Punjabi- 18 replies

On one side it is said that meat should not be allowed on the Gurudwara premisis, and on the other side it is overlooked. The Gurudwara in Strood, Kent UK has 2 premisis, and on both meat is allowed, this is widely known but no one does anything about it.

by Guest J.singh- 3 replies

Theres an app called gurbani anywhere on the app store which lets me read nitnem in english and punjabi, so its ideal for me because i cant read punjabi that well but if if i had the rnglish version with the punjabi version it would be easier to refer to it when i get stuck? But i don't know if reading it off ur mobile device is okay because the whole point of Amrit vela is to be away from all the electronic devices and be in a pure envirmoment ?

How does one control themselves from feeling upset because of separation from Vaheguru. Nothing seems to make Daas happy in this world. Everything seems lowly and empty compared to Saach khand. Daas really misses the love from Vaheguru. What can Daas do apart from paath, sangat and simran? Gurfateh

Hello sangat My family and I are in abit of a situation, my grandmother was taken into hospital a few weeks ago aftwr having suffered a stroke and brain hemmoraging. Doctors kept telling us she has a few days, but she miraculously keeps fighting back- she has been truly blessed by Babaji and ardas, there is no doubting that. She cannot speak but uses her strength to move her mouth to paath, and responds alot when we do simran near her- her faith is inspiring. Her death wish was to die at home, but recently, a family who has had allegations against them of abuse is trying to stick her in a hospice to live out hwr last days. The younger brother of the father of this fami…
