Hi guys, can anyone help me understand the link between meditation and self-reflection, in terms of sikhi. Can self-reflection be a stepping stone to being a better person and thus being able to meditate more effectively..?i I have started to write in a daily diary of my day and if I could have handled situations better or reflecting on what I said and how I said it or if I was offensive to anyone..

need opinions about what time is right to get married. this is my opinion, but it is not entirely convincing n so i seek your advice: matured/adult amritdhari stable job responsible in good health also what criteria to exist between the potential couple? love understanding ? im finishing school very soon in a medical vocation and so a job is secured (all in waheguru hukam) but trying to make a checklist on my own accord to reflect on myself since parents not really into sikhi.

I have recently become amritdahri last yr, I have a very busy scheduled lifestyle... I work at many different places and look after my nephew too. although this may sound funny to many people but it is a problem for me, as In the mornings I have to spend roughly an 1hr/2hrs on nitnem I've lost the extra time I could spend in the bath, so in the mornings I just have a very quick 5 min bath and brush my teeth etc.... I also have to be at work very early so everything is very tightly scheduled... so getting to the point, I feel like the 'mael'/dirt of my body isn't coming off very well due to the short amount of time I have in the bath I don't have enough time to rub and s…

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.

Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
