Alcoholism recovery

I am struggling with alcohol use disorder - my drinking has put me in unsafe situations and I have no doubt that if I continue down this path, I will be back in jail or in the hospital. Does the Gurdwara or community have any resources that can help? I have looked into AA and things, but it felt cultish to me- I would prefer to pursue my recovery around the word of our Gurus, and I am not sure where to begin. Do I just show up to the Gurdwara and say I have an addiction problem? Do I perform service every time I feel a temptation? Any advice is welcomed.

My 'friend' started questioning my beliefs and it did annoy me. She is a strong Christian and is homophobic and doesn't like muslims because she said it says in the Quran that Muslims are told to kill Christians, anyway my other Sikh friend said that we believe that there is one god and there are different paths. She said "how can you believe that if there are different religions and one God, We believe in one god and thats Jesus" that really annoyed me because I am already doubting religion and she is making matters worse, please help me..I don't even know what I asking but its been disturbing me the whole time and has made me even more confused Sorry for my mistak…

hello everyone, just wondering if there are some published sikh eyewitness accounts? iv read the Amarnama which was an eyewitness account written by a dhadi singh from guru gobind singh jis darbar, iv ordered Siri Gur Katha, an eyewitness document written by bhai Jaitha on important events like the first Amrit Sanchaar, Guru Tegh Bahadurs Shaheedi etc so im just wondering if there are some more that i can read translated in English preferably historical accounts from the times of the gurus or little after cheers!

A question for the sangat : Why is it that at youth kirtan darbars and smagams its not just youth doing kirtan ? it is older people as well. This is what really annoys me. i.e with reference to bradford smagam, jaspal singh, manjit singh, jasbir singh etc how is this fair? Shouldnt it just be youth as they only have one (akj) smagam a year to do kirtan at.

Sangat Jio, Due to my new work shift being 2pm I have a new routine on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. When I wake I wash my face, brush, 5 Baania, breakfast, do a few brain teasers, exercise, THEN do a full body ishnaan. A second best idea but I don't do would be exercise first, ishnaan then 5 Baania. It doesn't make sense to do two body Ishnaan both in the morning. I know some may do it, even three times a day! But it depends on how we all think. Doing it this way makes me happy and it feels good. Adding to: it doesn't matter how or what we do but we all should attempt strenuous exercise for 3 hours a week. It could be gym, calisthenics, gymnastics…

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras.
