BRICS is an acronym for five leading emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The first four were initially grouped as "BRIC" (or "the BRICs") in 2001 by Goldman Sachs economist Jim O'Neill, who coined the term to describe fast-growing economies that would collectively dominate the global economy by 2050;[1] South Africa was added in 2010.[2] The BRICS have a combined area of 39,746,220 km2 (15,346,100 sq mi) and an estimated total population of about 3.21 billion,[3] or about 26.7% of the world's land surface and 41.5% of the global population. Brazil, Russia, India, and China are among the world's ten largest countries by population, area,…

Not read this book, looks interesting. Anyone read it? Rebeiro exposes KPS Gill that actually he had no control over the Operation Blue Thunder-ll. He was merely projected. That Gill was out and out a caste minded officer, who took pride in being a Jatt. That Gill believed that there was no need of creation of public opinion against terrorism and advocated the policy of ruthless crushing by bullet only. Gill supported wrong officers and saw that these guilty officers were not prosecuted. That the ministers played a subordinate role and police was above them. Ribeiro has also unfolded …

I thought I'd start a thread so we could share interesting books we are reading. They don't have to be Sikhi orientated. I'm currently reading: Frances Kray: The Tragic Bride by Jacky Hyams I grew up in the East End of London and the legend of the Kray twins is one that is part of the local folklore. I started reading narratives that went past the image they so successfully created for themselves with a book called Bringing Down The Krays: Finally the truth about Ronnie and Reggie by the man who took them down by Bobby Teale. The book about Frances is very interesting in many respects because it gives an account of the young wife of Regg…

I just read the RASE report and I think that not only should every Sikh in the UK read it, those in other western diaspora communities (i.e. Canada and the US) should read it too, so they can be aware of such things taking place in their own countries of residence and also be informed about the persistent inaction by English authorities in dealing with this matter over decades. The link below will take you to a site from which you can request your own copy via email (for free). Here's a taste: Update: It looks like the original site was taken down. You can get the report from here: https://www.sikhawareness.com/topic/19517-rase-report-religiously-a…
