  1. These movies are not for the western Sikh audience although now that these movies are being banned in India the producers will have to consider catering more for the western Sikh audience as this is where they will likely recoup their investment. Whatever your thoughts on the artistic merit of these films, one thing that cannot be argued against is that they have led to Sikhs gaining more knowledge about the events that happened in the 80s and 90s. This can only be a good thing especially as the whole Indian education system and media is gearing towards either ignoring these events or painting these events to suit their own ends.

  2. there have been moments in Gurdwara kirtan programmes when I've seen real glaring mistranslations to english and it makes Gurbani sound loopy in the least and downright aggressive at the worst. Real sloppy mistakes .I thought people actually would pick on this and correct errors and omissions....but I guess I am too optimistic about the gun in others.

  4. thing is we know 3HO and 'sikh Drama International' is a RSS sponsored attack on sikhi saroop in the western world ...and this jathedar's letter was in response to Harbhajan's false claims that he was bestowed the title 'Sri Singh Sahib' by same jathedar and SGPC when it was not true I mean if such a huge Gursikh as Bhai Sahib Vir Singh who do so much sewa for the panth only got the title 'Bhai Sahib' who in the hell is this fake who has continually bigged himself up as being higher or better than 10 Guru Sahiban to claim a title such as 'Sri Singh Sahib....sikh leader of the Western Hemisphere'?

  5. Malkeet , if that is your name, please tell me your muslim aunties have sikh children, muslim children or atheists because that is the only three flavours that come out of that situation , the chances that the kids will be sikhs is lower than that of being atheist , because your uncles have zero respect or knowledge of what the Guru s and Sikhs of the past laid their lives down for just like those girls you cuss, and to be honest there is no way a muslimah is going to be versed enough or even motivated enough to teach their kids to be gursikhs . So there you have it the destruction of the future of sikhi . It is not about fish in the sea it is about ensuring going forward that there are a strong group of Sikh women who know and can teach their kids what it means to be real , to stand up for right, to be spiritual ...sure anyone can throw up their hands and say let them go ....but that is washing your hands of responsibility that Guru ji placed on all his followers to spread the message of sikhi and remind those who have strayed where the path lies and encourage them back .Guru ji didn't bring up generations of backsliders , you can't crow about being sikh if you are willing to just let it slide

  6. Read all the thread for my view on the Guru building a mosque. If the story is true then it was something that occurred due to a particular situation otherwise if was something to be emulated by Sikhs then there would be Guru Ki Maseets all over Punjab especially in the towns founded by the Gurus such as Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Anandpur Sahib etc. The thing that you do not seem to grasp that these Mosques will become centres of Dawah, they will not just stay small structures, no doubt they will 'find' some evidence of a Muslim graveyard nearby which they will demand be handed back to them and within a few year as more and more Muslim bhaiyas are settled there the Mosque will be expanded and it will become a centre for dawah. They Saudis are pumping billions of dollars every year around the world into non-Muslim countries building Mosques and Madrassas which will become a threat in the next few decades. Do you think that the idiocy of Sikhs like this man has not now been noted in Saudi Arabia and that money will now not be pumped into Punjab? In the previous years this would not have been a problem because the Sikhs of previous generation knew what Muslims and Islam was about and were strong in their beliefs. The Muslims didn't dare even attempt to convert Sikhs but do you think this will be the case now? Now reading the above, do you still think that the Sikh who built the mosque for the Muslims did a good thing?

  7. Thats the type of movie I'm referring to bro. Subpar acting at best, corny dialogue, horrible editing, people spend more time laughing at the movie than paying attention. Those movies only impress the older viewers who have no clue what a well made movie really is lol.

  8. Well, thats a good question. After gaining noteriety in the 1960's with their epic seaside battles with the Rockers, immortalised in celluloid with the classic film 'Quadrephenia' they made a brief re-appearance in the 1980s especially among fans of the pop group The Jam. Since then, their fashion of slim fit shirts, ties and suits do occassionally give inspiration to various European fashion designers but essentially the only place you'll find them is in provincial A-Roads and Motorways on Sunday mornings riding their mopeds in groups of about 20, slowing down traffic, preventing you from reaching that wedding in Coventry you're trying to get to in time. As they are all middle aged boring suburban moped enthusiasts reminiscing about the 60's, you won't find them in the big metropolises like London, Birmingham etc. So, in answer to your question 'Where are the Mods', I would say the answer is Wiltshire, on the A-Road, on a Sunday morning. Thats where they are.
